The komodo dragon metaphor fell to the cutting room floor. Seascribe said something tactful like "hmm I think this one may have got away from you" and I realised she was right. Very very right. (Although part of me still want to use that metaphor. Perhaps I'll just post it on Tumblr ( ... )

I recently reread A Thousand Colors of Water and I still love it so much I want to cry, just so you know. It is officially in my top 5 favorite dS fics of all time, forever. I can't even words properly over how amazing it is.

(yay for RPF, too! I come from RPF fandom and am thoroughly convinced there should be more of it in C6D.)

Eeeeeeeeeee THANK YOU! That fic means a lot to me, it felt like my original contribution to dS fic because it was the story I wanted to tell and hadn't read a version of before. Not that there's anything less good about fic you've read a version of before - I love the iterations we get in fanfic. But I've been to A LOT of weddings in the last few years so wedding fic seemed like a thing I could do justice!

And just two days ago I was fangirling SO HARD with Seascribe about your vid Phoenix - ALL THE RAYV FEELINGS OMG. I don't know anything about how vids are put together but yours is so clever and thoughtful and the bit where the lyrics say something like "don't cry/that's all over now" and we see Ray and Fraser just doing stuff together and MY HEART. That vid really added a whole layer to how I now see RayV.

(YAY for RPF! More Paul Gross/martha Burns/CKR is there in my list of things to write this year!)

I just adore everything about that fic. It's one of my favorite RayV/Stella relationships ever- there are a couple good ones where they're just cute and happy, and then lots of other good fics with RayK and/or Fraser dealing with more serious stuff, but this is the only fic I can think of where Stella is the one helping with Ray's post-Vegas issues. Also the Fraser-Vecchio friendship is perfect, and I even really like the Fraser/Kowalski dynamic despite not having many feelings about them as a pairing ( ... )

The RPF is pretty much 4k words of Deputychairman's sexual fantasies with no artistic justification or plot, and if you're going to write that kind of thing and put it on the internet, I figure you have to stand up and be counted for it, you know? But I am always delighted to know other people like it too! And my RayV fics too - it makes me happy that they make you happy.

Excellent! Validation! I love that film SO MUCH and I'll have to be careful not write a whole fic which boils down to OMG I AM SO ATTRACTED TO PAUL GROSS I CANNOT FUNCTION (this is a very real danger). The interesting part for me is the dynamic where Sophie is fairly clearly the one in charge and they're both happy with that. I had better go and rewatch it. You know, for *research.*

I really like the canon het couple in that movie, too! (Also I like Annie, and I received some excellent Annie/Alex backstory as a gift a while ago. It's on the AO3.)

I actually think PG is hotter when he's slightly older than he is in that movie? Like, S1 Benton Fraser is the apex of PG's hotness, IMO, or maybe that's just the character. Although, hey, I definitely appreciate him in Buffalo Jump, too.

I have been thinking ALL DAY about the apex of Paul Gross's hotness. S1 Fraser is clearly mighty fine; and I also deeply appreciate wild-eyed growling Geoffrey Tennant. But something about his submissive cowboy act in Buffalo Jumps really, really works for me. It's like they went to all this effort to film him looking really fucking pretty while doing what he's told, and it would just be ungrateful of me to remain unmoved.

Perhaps I will think about this question some more. In my bunk, as they say.
