The Violence of the Lamb

Apr 04, 2006 00:49

So, I still have no idea who blew up the bus, and I'm finding it hard to care, since, while things appear to be on the upswing, season 2 of VM thus far has turned out to be the biggest disappointment since… season 2 of Joan of Arcadia, which, actually, was just last year, so I guess maybe sucky sophomore seasons are the in thing for the kids right ( Read more... )

I love that you brought up Profit! It's something I never would have tied in to this in a million years, but it could totally fit.

Anyone who has not seen Profit needs to go to Amazon right now and order the DVDs. They're on sale for only $15!!!!

I bought Profit without knowing anything about it, based only on my love for David Greenwalt. And I was not dissapointed! $15? It's almost worth buying a second copy just to loan out...

What great spec, Dep'. It makes me want to go back and re-examine "Silence of the Lamb," although I doubt Muhney would have intentionally be playing that ep for anything like this story line.

And it's good to see a post from you again.

You never know. Muhney's extremely smart. Mensa smart.
And it's good to see a post from you again.

This is really interesting. I have issues with the whole serial rapist thing as an arc. But, if they are going to do it (and it seems that way if season 3 happens), this would be a neat way to do it.

Yeah, I really don't think rape is a topic they should be revisiting, given the reactions to ATttD. But it looks like this is the plan, or at least one of the plans.

I have great issues myself, the key one being that we're supposed to buy Veronica is spending a whole season investigating a crime that leaves girls roofied and raped and have no fallback to what happened to her. Why? Because Donut said it was consensual. Gah! She still thought she was raped for a year and a half (and that Carrie/Beaver timeline still makes me question whether she still wasn't).

Oo...fabulous theory.

This season has sort of eroded my faith in the VM writing team though, so I'm afraid you might be giving these writers a little too much credit if you believe they'd need any more justification for putting Lamb in the elevator with Madison than the lowly desire to give the fans a thrill by pairing off a couple of secondary characters and to set up a good sight gag. As for the choice of the Neptune Grand? Well, there's Lamb's need to impress an 09er girl (as you mentioned) and possibly Keith's in with hotel security? the story wouldn't have worked at the Camelot because it lacks security cameras and an elevator? Or it could be a just a case of everything happening at the same hotel because it's a TV show where thing's are often a little too coincidental and incestuous. I mean, there's no reason why Logan and Kendall had to have sex down the hall from Duncan and Veronica either -- other than to set up a great moment between L and V outside in the hallway. So I guess I'm not finding fault with your theory so much ( ... )

You're right that I'm probably giving the writing staff too much credit, but who knows what the staff will look like next year if they make it onto The CW. Maybe Rob will get fired about be replaced as head writer by Jane Espenson ( ... )

"..Veronica apologizes to him for abandoning him all year while his world was going to hell and he had no one.."
I'm not spoiled so I hope you're not giving away an upcoming scene here.[/sarcasm]
