The Violence of the Lamb

Apr 04, 2006 00:49

So, I still have no idea who blew up the bus, and I'm finding it hard to care, since, while things appear to be on the upswing, season 2 of VM thus far has turned out to be the biggest disappointment since… season 2 of Joan of Arcadia, which, actually, was just last year, so I guess maybe sucky sophomore seasons are the in thing for the kids right ( Read more... )

Rob’s learned the hard way that making a character a rapist does not actually endear that character to the audience
Bwahahaha!

I really do love this theory because I completely think that Lamb is both capable of it, and smart enough to pull it off. His problem isn't stupidity, it's laziness, as you said.

While I think this could be a great story, it worries me because if Rob does do the three shorter mysteries next season, the storyline will be wrapped up in seven or eight episodes, and then no more Lamb.
I do enjoy Lamb as a character (in that I love to hate him), so I thought about this too, and I can totally see them putting this storyline off until the last seven episodes, only giving us tiny mentions throughout the season that girls are still being raped, but not introducing it as the first mystery in the season opener.

That would be awesome, if they put it off until the end. I hadn't thought of that.

It could be like a sneaking in a season-long arc. Heck, a three-season-long arc.

I am going to be crushed if this doesn't happen.

Okay, that was a total lie, because if the V/D crapfest didn't break me, nothing will.

Oh man...i'm almost sad I read that. I'm so excited now! that's fucking brilliant! I'm just scared that, like so many other things that I got excited about this season, it won't pan out. But seriously? Good call. That would be amazing.

Thanks! Since no one said I'm insane, I decided to unlock this. I was afraid of ridicule.

Genius. And completely plausible. I never for a minute thought that the Madison storyline would actually go anywhere and we all know that Rob doesn't add a scene without a reason. That definitely bugged me (as hot as the scene was) about the last episode. It seemed too important to be a one-off.

Now the bigger question is: how the hell am I going to continue to run a comm devoted to a potential serial rapist? All the fangirls are going to run away. Heh.

Maybe he'll be a rapist with a soul!

I locked this in part because I was afraid of it getting to RoL and Michael. I didn't want to scare anyone. But now I've unlocked it because I realize it's pretty harmless. All in good fun!

This is f-ing brilliant. Also - if they go through with the Neptune incorporation I can see Lamb escalating his crimes as a way of "getting back" at those who stripped him of his power.

Here's the sad thing - I don't think the writers/RT will go anywhere even 1/10th as smart or exciting.

My expectations are sufficiently lowered. Heh.

Very interesting... Maybe he'll go after Gia. (I really hope she comes back next year. She's grown on me.)

My expectations are sufficiently lowered..
I know the feeling.

Hot DAMN do I love this spec. While I love MM and think he does an excellent job as Lamb, I've never been a fan of Lamb for a number of reasons. I can't really ... quanitfy them, but there's just always seemed to be something under the surface that bothers me. I mean, dude, allusions to abuse (207), and I didn't go all gooshy like I did with Logan (106). I could never really explain WHY, but this just .... oh, I love this!

I'm really hoping that they will make this plot into a season-long arc and then have the B-plot follow the 7-7-8 concept (like V's rape, Felix's murder). But that's me.

Seriously, this is absolute genius. I am totally impressed. And now I'll be very disappointed if things don't turn out this way. :-\

Thanks! :)

This is definitely what they should do. I was hoping this season that the bus crash would be the season mystery and that other mysteries, like Felix, would be wrapped up around mid-season. But then we might not have coma baby!

No coma baby! =-O Don't even *joke* about that sort of thing! :'-(

And, yeah, this season really feels like both mysteries are stretched beyond their limits. Still, things appear to be picking up, so hopefully we have 6 awesome episodes left yet. =crosses fingers=

And hopefully no more coma babies. =nods=
