PENINSULAR ROCK AGAMAS

.... being reptiles, have to bask in the sun on the rocks to warm up their blood, and to prevent predators from picking them off, are masters of camouflage.

Can you see an agama in this picture?

I can see the little lizards if I study the photos carefully, but what I really like is the beautiful rocks themselves! You can see how there were sediment layers that were later super-heated and churned as mountains were created. And then even later those mountains were eroded down and left these rock chunks to grow moss. Fascinating. Like looking at the inside of the earth's body.

Hey you should see THREE Agamas. I don't think you need glasses just quite yet!
