Sleep is like the unicorn - it is rumored to exist, but I doubt I will see any.

Joel and I sleep on a mattress and box spring on the floor. This weekend, my Gran's bringing me a bed frame that we picked out that she picked up in Florida since it couldn't be delivered. I had a softside waterbed as a kid.

I had trouble sleeping on normal beds as an adult.

I tried the "sleep number" bed, but the divided side thing bugged me and we don't agree on softness for the most part.

Our solution?

TEMPURPEDIC.

OMG most comfortable bed ever.

I had a waterbed for...hmmm...don't remember how old I was at the time, but it wasn't til 2004 that I finally gave up on them, and bought a sleep number bed. And enjoy and appareciate it.

The waterbed was great, for a long time. But, upkeep and moving those is a PITA. The sleep number bed is great..easily moved, and can simulate a waterbed, fairly well, at lower settings. That actually was needed and appreciated in adjusting from the waterbed.

No idea what the number is currently, but it's fairly high. Not as high as a normal "stiff" mattress would be, but not as low as a waterbed simulation would be.

If you have select comfort near you, I'd definitely say try it out. However, Mobobocita has a good point with the Tempurpedic as well.
