Prince of Tennis is one of those I actually forgot about up until a few weeks ago when I took an interest in watching it again. At first, Yamazaki parodying it was what got me interested in it. XD I'll be adding it to my (already excessively long) anime list :D
Haha, actually, Yamazaki's parody was one of the main reasons why I read the Prince of Tennis manga, too XDD
Idk, maybe it's better just to do like I did and watch just some episodes with the most epic tennis games, not all of it - it has some fillers, and in some episodes the action is slow. But the manga is good pretty much all the time XD
That gif is amazing and I would have been disappointed if it was under a cut. And eventually I plan to get to prince of tennis but so much to watch/read already... And I just picked up another manga too.
I tried reading Toriko, but somehow didn't like it much... Maybe it's the whole universe in the story that doesn't do anything for me.
Lol, yaoi manga, it's been ages since I read any, it's all the same about tall, dark, and handsome seme and a blushing virginal uke, who totally does not want to do It, only not really XD
Man, that space captain is lookin' hella good in that GIF of yours. Elizabeth looks cute too. The only thing missing from this GIF is some epic music playing in the background. Like the song "Far" by Lzn02 from the album FAR would fit nicely with the GIF.
If the youtube video doesn't play, here's a link to the song on another website: Track #2: "Far"
And thanks for reminding me to see the anime series Prince of Tennis. Weeks ago, I began watching the live movie version of Prince of Tennis with the actor Kanata Hongo, but I didn't finish it. And that fanvideo of PoT, oh man, I love how anime has a tendency to make even the most ordinary things we do in life, like playing tennis, into something epic with cosmic explosions and dinosaurs.
Well, it is Katsura-san, he looks great 99% of the time ;D Yeah, epic music would do it good!
I like your variant, but I myself was thinking of something orchestral, maybe along the lines of this.
I was thinking of watching the live action, but then I heard Shirota Yuu is in it, and I don't like him, so I decided not to. Although I like Kanata Hongo, hmmm...
Lol, anime sure is awesome XD Have you seen Yakitate Japan? They make even bread baking look epic XDD
You speak the truth: Katsura does look great nearly 100% of the time. A part of me secretly wishes for a live-action version of Gintama. It makes me wonder which Japanese actor would be awesome playing Katsura.
Ooo, "Also Sprach Zarathustra" works super well with that GIF of Katsura! Any space-related GIF always works well with "Also Sprach Zarathustra."
Ah, Shirota Yuu. I don't know much about him. But I've heard one of his random songs that mixed together Spanish musical beats + Japanese lyrics when it was featured over at aramatheydidnt, and I thought it was okay.
Sadly nope, I haven't seen Yakitate Japan yet. But based on the summary over at the site Myanimelist.net and how you described the series as making even bread-baking look epic, I think I'll have to check it out! Staying on the topic of bread-baking, have you ever seen this educational video on how to properly make bread? The title of this video "How NOT to make bread" is wrong. THIS is how people should make bread every day.
Wow, good question... Gackt? XDDD I actually don't think anyone is worthy good-looking enough to play Katsura-san. Not to mention the fact that nobody could ever be as cool as Gin-san, either.
Yeah, it's an appropriately epic song for such a gif :D
I've seen him in couple of jdramas, and he is a good actor and all, but something about him just rubs me wrong...
I think I've seen the scene in that gif before, but I don't remember where (perhaps from one of the early OPs or EDs, though now I'm not sure). Either way, yes, it's epic, although I'm a bit distracted with Katsura-san's hair in your userpic and his hair in the gif not quite flowing at the same rate (but that might only be on my end). ^^;;
I saw a few Prince of Tennis Musicals a few years back. Never read the manga or watch anime (feel they are too long), though, but I remember liking Tezuka. Used to read fanfics, but they were on the musicals, and in any case, I don't have the links anymore.
I believe it was one of the OPs, but I can't remember which one :)
Lol, I didn't even notice XDD I guess the wind is stronger in the userpic, so his hair moves faster XDD
I'm not a big fan of musicals, not sure if I will give them a try... But I don't think the manga is too long, if you really concentrate on reading it, you can manage it in couple of weeks ;)
Ah, thanks. :) I'll keep an eye out for the scene when I re-watch the series then.
I watched the musicals for tokusatsu actors, so I suppose if you are not invested in them, you are probably not going to be very interested. (That said, I still haven't gotten around to watch the ones with Daisuke Watanabe (George's actor from Ultraman Mebius) as Tezuka...) And the musicals (at least the few I've seen) don't include any of the female characters, so I still don't really know any of them.
You're right, the manga probably isn't too long. I did try a little bit of volume 1, but it didn't grab me. (I need to like the main character to follow the series. Don't know what's my problem with him, really, since I've liked similar character types before.) Oh well, I might come back to it again some time...
Haha, I wonder if I will ever get around rewatching all of it, it took me almost a year to watch it in the first place XDD
I had read that he played Tezuka, and was considering giving it a try, because I really liked George, he was pretty much my favourite. But he didn't really seem very Tezuka to me, so in the end I just watched a couple of funny youtube videos from the musicals and that's it.
Well, there were not that many (if any at all) female characters in the actual series, either. But I don't care much about that XD
Hmm, I suppose that might be a problem, the main character is not really likeable here. Well, not so much unlikeable, as he just doesn't have an all that interesting personality. But I like sports series about competitions and stuff, so I enjoy reading the manga.

If you are interested, I have also written a small review of the series here: http://denshi-no-ultra.livejournal.com/45225.html
Omg, that video is hilarious XDDD That guy can come over to my house and make bread for me any time XDD
