I've read and watched Prince of Tennis too! In fact, I've been rereading it on and off for the past few weeks. I think I'm somewhere around Seigaku vs. Hyotei now, possible Tezuka vs. Atobe. It's been a while, I should pick it up again. XD
I'm not very fond of Echizen either. I actually like his cocky brat-ness, but the mangaka's insistence on how he's the best thing since sliced bread got boring really fast. :/ Echizen is much more entertaining in the omakes, side-stories and personal interactions with others that have little do with tennis. Like, his excuse for being late and the others being all "...yeah, no way did he help a pregnant woman, lolz u liar". And then when Oishi told the same thing, they all believed it immediately! XD
I have quite a few fic recs here if you want to take a look. Well, at least I assume the link works: I just got Diigo like an hour ago and transferred my delicious bookmarks there (because wtf did delicious do, I can't find my tags anymore), but I assume you don't
( ... )
Haha, that's a funny coincidence :D It really is interesting enough to reread, I'm pretty sure I will reread it when I have finished reading it for the first time. Argh, Tezuka vs Atobe was totally heartbreaking T____T
I totally agree, it's those moments outside games that make him more interesting, otherwise he just has no personality, he is just a tennis winning machine XD Lol, I loved that moment, Oishi-kun is so dependable, no wonder they believed him XDDDD
Wow, thank you for all the links! I will have lots of fun going through them :) Haha, the favourites really are kind of obvious, but I don't mind at all ;))
Well, pretty much nothing in fics bothers me, so don't worry about no warnings. Although thanks for thinking about that.
Omg, what did I just watch XDDDD I don't like Shirota Yuu, but Atobe sure looks fine there!
I've actually rewatched some of the National Tournament/Semifinals/Finals episodes a few times just because the art is good. Also, The Prince of Beach-Volleyball and Prince of Yakiniku episodes are hilarious. XDDD
They'd probably believe Oishi if he told them that he was kidnapped by aliens, too. XD "But it's Oishi, he wouldn't lie!"
I figured I'd mention the lack of warnings because I've seen several ffrants posts about that. Not that I thought that you'd throw a fit, but in case someone else sees the link and thinks it matters. *shrug* They're not as much recs as a list of things worth rereading for myself, so I why would I warn, I don't bookmark something I don't like. XD
...As a side note, I'll never ever believe that the characters are only 12-15-year olds. No way. They're always at least in high-school in my mind when I read/watch canon or fics. It's definitely the mangakas fault, he should've changed the character designs when he made them younger
( ... )
I have not got so far yet, but I definitely will be looking forward to those episodes! :D
Haha, that actually sounds kind of plausible, if it's Oishi, I would want to kidnap him too, it would be nice to keep him around XDD
Good point, you never know what might bother people... Anyhow, thank you again for the list, I'm working through it reading all fics :D Actually, I didn't think much of Kaidoh before, but now I kind of started to like him because of all the fics XDD
Omg, so true! For the sake of my sanity I consider Ryoma 15, and all the other guys older, because otherwise that's just wrong and makes no sense and just wtf, Tezuka looks like a sensei XDD Nope, in this aspect I choose to disregard the canon and believe they are all older.
I actually watched some other vids on youtube... It's definitely a case of so bad that it's good XDDD I just can't take them seriously when they are dancing and singing XDD
I started watching that a while back, but I stopped at ep 10-something, not because I didn't like it, but because of crappy internet connection at the time XD I should really rewatch it, implausible tennis matches aside, it's a good series from what I've seen.
Well, plausible tennis would be pretty boring, I've seen actual tennis, and it's not that eventful, so it's good the anime has a bit more livelier variant of tennis XD
The anime has some fillers, but it's still a decent series, I guess. I really like the manga, though.
Prince of Tennis<3 Haha I've been a fan for that forever xD Just finished Rereading it actually. The sequel to it is actually pretty good too. Although it's still ongoing.
Wow, that's good to know, if I will need something to know about it, I will ask you ;D
I have still a long way to go until I reach the sequel, I'm still on the 30th episode of the anime (although I read 300 chapters of the manga). Lol, by the time I'm done with it, the new anime will already start XD
