Finally saw Harry Potter...

Considering I kinda hated the book and threw it across the room on more than one occasion, I really liked the film. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, because film is such a different medium - take Half-Blood Prince, for example. I sobbed my way through the book, but the film left me completely emotionally cold. So glad to see you liked it too! The Peverell animation was done by Ben Hibon. Passing on the goodness: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film/animated-sequence-in-harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows.html

For the amount of screen time he got, Alan Rickman rocked. Wasn't his entrance jaw-dropping?? Not that any of this is a surprise exactly, but his awesomeness tends to grip me and refuse to let me go at the oddest times.

I always think it's such a shame there's not more of him in the films because Snape is such an awesome, ambiguous, conflicted character, and there's so much to explore there. Plus, Alan Rickman is awesomeness incarnate. When Snape is onscreen you just can't take your eyes off him.

Too true. I always wanted to see more of him in the books too. Which is why the sixth book will probably always be my favorite book even if it wasn't exactly the best story.

Have you seen anything else AR's done? The HP movies were what introduced him to me, and I've only seen him in Sweeney Todd after that, but I always feel like I must be missing out...

Hee, more or less everything! He's one of my favourite actors. If you get the chance, you must definitely check out Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Sense and Sensibility, Truly Madly Deeply, Dogma, Galaxy Quest and Love Actually - those are some of my favourite Alan movies.
