Finally saw Harry Potter...

Considering I kinda hated the book and threw it across the room on more than one occasion, I really liked the film. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, because film is such a different medium - take Half-Blood Prince, for example. I sobbed my way through the book, but the film left me completely emotionally cold. There's Dumbledore being killed by Snape (and please tell me that no longer counts as a spoiler?) and I was just looking at my watch and being grateful the film was nearly over.

But I really liked this one. I loved the animation of the Three Brothers, which I know everyone has said, but it was so unexpectedly lovely. And the filmmakers really managed to keep the tension and the menacing threat all the way through, which considering most of the film takes place in a tent is quite impressive!

Lucius - and dammit, I still type Lucious every single time - is quite sexy all ruffled and unshaven and nervous. I do love me some Jason Isaacs. But there still wasn't enough Snape. I say that with every film though, so it's not a realistic criticism.
