Day 11 - A show that disappointed you
That would be The Black Donnellys. I remember watching a leaked version of the pilot months and months before the show aired, and it was amazing. The premise was great, the music was perfect, it was all so gritty and seedy and fraught with brotherly angst. I absolutely loved it, and I couldn't wait for the show to start, all the more so after I heard Kate Mulgrew had been cast as the matriarch of the Donnelly family.
And then the show aired, and they'd changed things in the pilot - they'd cut some of the music that had been used to such brilliant effect, like Arcade Fire's 'Rebellion (Lies)', but I thought 'okay, so they made a few changes, the pilot's not as awesome, let's see how it all goes'. But the show just meandered and didn't seem to have any purpose, and none of the characters were sympathetic enough for me to even like them, and in the end I gave up on it. And then it was cancelled, so I guess it wasn't just me.
