Who has seen Star Wars yet?

Dec 20, 2015 12:29

Come on, I need people to flail with! Not one single person in my physical existence has seen it yet, so I'm relying on my virtual sphere to satisfy my need to flail and squee...and rant.

(Spoilers in the comments, folks!)

I could not believe where they ended it! I was like, LukeLukeLukeLuke, and then it ended? So mean.

And Han! I cannot believe they killed Han. How could they do it?

I'm torn between hoping desperately it's a carbonite-type thing and he'll have survived somehow, him and Kylo both. But at the same time... one of the originals had to die, it was the Obi-Wan moment to kick the new hero into action

And knowing Harrison Ford for the grump that he is, I bet he only agreed to come back if they'd kill him off in the first movie!

I loved it so much. I went in with no hope it would be any better than the prequels, but goddamn.

I heard the buzz so I was hoping it would be good, but it was way better than I'd expected! They just nailed that dirty, gritty, rough and tumble 70s feel that the original movies had - the prequels just felt too shiny and modern, but this was perfect. All the feels.

But Han! Han. I'm holding out hope there's some way for him to be alive in the inevitable sequel - and given where they left it there's going to be a sequel...

I love that it had some of the cheery, ridiculous humor alongside that 70s spaceship design. The rough and ready Resistance look contrasted with the fascist Empire. It's gorgeous.

I was NOT expecting it, though I guess I should have - there's so much in the series about fathers and sons, youngsters and their mentors. I held my breath, horrified. Oh Han. But really, that's a man who was never going to die in bed.

I loved all the new people, except Kylo Ren and the Simon Pegg character, so much! I finally got to see a female kicking ass with a lightsaber in a live action big screen film.

I saw it yesterday and loved it. Rey is my favorite. She is just awesome in every single way (I really liked Finn too). And I loved all the little jokes. The movie was just fun.

I loved Rey too! It's so amazing to see a woman fronting a huge 'boys' (we know better, of course) event-movie like Star Wars.

But she's totally a Skywalker, right? She has to be!

I do think she's a Skywalker. It is also possible that she is Leia and Han's daughter, maybe even Ren's twin. Either way she must be part of this family somehow. I'm leaning toward Luke's daughter. And I think both Han and Leia knew who she was.
