Picspam, people! Real life and Supernatural, natch.

Well, busy week! Thursday night ROCKED, since krakkernuts and jumila were over for the new Supernatural episode, and really, good company and great TV, combined with pizza and ice cream: how much better can life get?

I should also mention my exciting family news: my brother is getting married! YAY!!!! She's awesome and I love her family, so this is all incredibly exciting. They told us last weekend when we were up in the country at our parent's place for my dad's birthday. I kept randomly squeeing throughout the day. (Though I did mutter to him at one point, in jest, "Great. Some birthday present for dad: how the hell am I ever supposed to top this?" ;P)

And the weather was just so glorious last weekend. It felt like nature was doing this torturous reverse striptease, though: the grass was tantalizingly peeking through last year's growth, the breeze was caressingly warm - and I crave riotous flowers covering all that bare soil now, dammit! I want all those nekkid skeleton trees and bushes covered in lush, verdant green!

Rather stark, innit?

Beavers at work - with quite aesthetically pleasing results, actually. (Way to reinforce a Canadian stereotype, eh? EH?)

But at least there were crocuses. (Crocii?)

And did I mention how wonderful my brother's dog is? To understand just how unusual that statement is coming from me, you have to know that I am NOT a dog person. My favourite dogs are ones that act like cats: quiet, just like to cuddle, mostly mind their own business. But I am just head-over-heels for this sweetie.

She's a Samoyed, and just incredibly good-natured and well-behaved. I love her to bits. Here she is on the dock at the pond. (See the lack of green? *sob*)

Life just doesn't get any better than when playing with daddy.

With the possible exception of rolling, of course.

That's one dirty doggie!

And then during the work week there was the Supernatural stuff. IN REAL LIFE.

On Monday morning, audreyovisual walked into my office with a strange look on her face, saying, "I think the universe is trying to tell us something. I'm just not sure what. Go look out the window."

So I did.

An honest-to-goodness Chevy Impala, people! In the parking lot right next door!

The fins are different, and of course the detailing is incredibly garish compared to the girl we all know and love, but still. Awesome. What a way to start the week.

I've also been meaning to post for ages pictures of some fabulous items Audrey found at our neighbourhood corner store. She found these choice items between the Portuguese old-lady housecoats and 50-pound bags of lentils. (We work in a rather ethnically eclectic neighbourhood.)

I should point out before I go any further that these are real, honest-to-goodness products you can buy. I don't think I could have made this up if I tried. You can click on each image to see it enlarged, as well.

Anyone read Spanish?

Aw, it doesn't have supernational powers...but maybe it has supernatural ones?!?

And last but not least, did you know you can buy Holy Water* from a corner store? And it smells like cheap perfume - who knew?!?!
(*Sacred inner glow not included. That's courtesy of my mad photographic skillz.)

Come on over, Sam and Dean: we can do much better than a SpongeBob SquarePants altar for ya.

supernatural, real life
