Thank you! Yes, it's very bittersweet, for although she must kill her friend, by her doing so, it will end the world, so she can have her real, strong Satoko back. This arc always interested me because you would think with nothing bad happening, it would be nearly a "perfect world", but the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" applies too well to Higurashi. You need conflict in order to become a strong person, and fight whatever comes your way.
Oh yes! The Satoko screaming for her NiiNii every couple of mintues drove me nuts when I watched it. I would rather have that tough little trap master as a best friend *nodnod*
That whole arc made me pity Satoko very much...I really hated seeing her torture herself and all I wished for was an illusion of her Nii Nii coming back to her right before her death. One little sliver of hope ya know?
