So, Narnia...

Went to see it today.  And omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg Casmund.

Never would have shipped them.  Honestly never.  But wow the chemistry in the film was just so tangible.  That fight scene, actually both...  unf.  But mostly for me it's the characters.  They just go so well together.  As I was trying to explain to my baffled mother, they are ( Read more... )

avenue q rules ok, squee!, real life, my sis rules, shipper heaven, at the movies, hermione/bellatrix torture scene is hot, narnia, otp: edmund/caspian

LOL Silver Chair is next? That's the book where I stopped reading the series, since I lost the book while reading and didn't feel inclined to continue....the beginning at least was boring. Are they doing a movie of "The Horse and His Boy"? That and "The Magician's Nephew" were perhaps my faves...

You should totally read it. It has the best plot, even if it takes a while to get going (which I didn't think it did, but that's MO :D). Honestly, I think it's the best.

I love those two as well. Silver Chair's very similar to them. Whereas the Pevensie novels are lighter and have way less plot.

Hehe good to know I'm not the only one that ships this! (Well, apart from my sis but she doesn't count)

*NARNIA SQUEEE* :D

I admit I didn't see the ship (if someone pointed it out to me before the movie, I probably would have :D), but I'm pretty sure that's because I don't really get Caspian as a character. :P

I didn't realize that Eustace was in Son of Rambow even though I watched both movies in December, LOL, I fail. xD

The only thing I found about the next movie is that "the production of further films would be contingent on the profitability of previous films", but I guess you've seen this because it's from wikipedia. And it doesn't even have a source.
I'm totally buying the DVD when it comes out, so from me they'll get all the profit I can give. ;)

I never would have seen it but somehow it just jumped out at me. I adore Caspian simply because he's Ben Barnes. Ultimate unf.

That kid is ace. So funny and surprisingly a really great actor too!

What I found out was that they're not sure whether to do Silver Chair or Magician's Nephew first, which seems insane to me. MN is obviously a prequel, and Silver Chair follows right on and there was even the Jill tag. Sigh.

Didn't really like how they inserted an over-arching plot beyond the quest for the seven lords, but it was nonetheless a good movie that Mom and I enjoyed.

Well they kinda had to, otherwise the movie would have been really boring. Even the plot they put in (which was practically in the book already) wasn't as exciting as the previous films.

My mum cried at the end :) Shhe always does when Reepicheep sails away.

Dunno, the book wasn't boring, so I'm not convinced a movie with the same progression would be, even though I know they are different media. It felt to me kind of like a dumbing down.

Yes, but what's interesting and captures a reader's attention in books isn't the same as in film. Films really need an overarching plotline, to give it drive and purpose. Plus the little stories at the islands themselves, though lovely and beautifully written, don't really have the tension needed to make a film enjoyable.

I felt they should have put more of the little stories back in though, like more of the Dufflepods story.

- After the Casmund hug, the Doctor pops up in the TARDIS, smushing their faces together so they kiss.

The images I got from that line *laughs* I can just imagine him doing that, all the while grinning like he's the cleverest man on the planet (which, I suppose, he'd currently be XD)

I haven't seen it, and I still have to watch the first movie properly, but I do love the Narnia books, and the old series. ^^ I just need to do a re-read, I think.

Lol yeah that was my sister's input, after I said I just wanted to smush them :D

Oooooh watch it! But don't read the books first. I've always found that if you refresh your memory too much then you don't enjoy the film as much - you'll keep spotting things they missed out and it won't be like you imagined. It's best to keep it in a haze, then re-read after :D

I totally don't ship Casmund in the books. Too wrong. But omg the film... You'll see what I mean. Like I said, I never would have shipped them before.
