 Wow.  That was spectacular.  One of, if not the, best episodes yet.  Let's break it down.

- Cordelia: Oh how good it was to see High School Cordelia again!  Just goes to show how much she's changed.  Although something seemed different.  Maybe because of Charisma's age, or the writing, but Cordelia seemed a LOT less snarky and nasty than she was in

You're right about Cordy. Honestly I really don't like her on AtS, but on BtVS she's stunning. That's why I was so disappointed to see her in Spin the Bottle without her usual wit and, well, charisma. :)
Fred. <3 Love Fred, in this episode she's even more awesome. Love Amy Acker.
Still, I think the highlights of this episode is Angel-Connor interaction. The way Connor says "fathers". But all through the conversation Connor is magnificent.
Joss Whedon is a genius, I still plan to kidnap him, tie him to a chair and make him tell me stories like Lorne did there.

There was just something missing. It just wasn't old Cordelia. It was a shade of her, but not HER. It's hard to explain.
It is a brilliant conversation. The way they kind of bond but in a really weird way. And Connor realises just how like his father he is. It's great.

Did Whedon write this epp? :s. I can't remember...I thought he just wrote "Waiting in the Wings." It is definitely comparable to Tabula Rasa, and like you say I think it works better actually. Love it too, and the end with the "Were we in love?" bit KILLS me every time! :( They were so good in that scene...also love the way Angel casually walks into her room without knocking, so familiar! ;)

I think we had heard his name before for sure, in a flashback or info drop or SOMETHING. But yeah...since Liam is the Irish version of William, he and Spike basically have the same first name, lol! :p

Are you liking season 4 then? I'm curious to see what you think of the epps to come, serious shit about to go down...and yep, Dawn/Connor is a pretty common ship, lol, I can see it! ;)

Yep, he wrote it. I saw it in the credits at the beginning. Otherwise I'd have just credited the writers. And yes, the symmetry in that bit was brilliant :D

I'm liking it more than S3 so far. Maybe cos of Connor - after Cordy I think he's my fave character. But yeah, I know a lot of people hate this season. And of course there's the Charisma firing side of it, which I'm trying hard to put to one side as I watch this. I just watched Apocalypse, Nowish so shit has started to go down! I also just posted my thoughts about the last scene.

It just works, as a ship. :D

Lol you like Connor? There's a rare opinion! :p. And yeah, I think season 4 is great (haters gonna hate, I disagree completely, and as I said I think many people hate on it for minor/superficial or invalid reasons). I have to rewatch more, but season 4 is one of my fave seasons along with 3 for sure...so epic and exciting and dramatic! And yay AN! :D. Gonna read your thoughts now then...

Hehe have you not been reading my posts? I pretty much adore him! :D So many reasons to. I always love the hated ones anyway. Apart from Faith, Oz and Dawn, Kennedy's my fave in Buffy.
I think S2's gonna end up as my fave :)
More thoughts from the AN recap - I so wish that I could believe Cordelia would have done something like that. Because the whole setup and scene was so perfect (in a totally twisted way of course). But poor Connor. And I know Cordy never would have done it. Soo :(
