So my expensive shoes arrived.

The Lily Darlings were a slight disappointment however. I underestimated the squareness of the toebox. And between that and my genetically flatter arches (due to being a narrow-footed female of my racial phenotype), my feet tended to slide forward, letting my heel spring out of the shoe at every step. tell me about your bootmaker. What do they do? I am sick of not being able to get shoes that fit because supposedly only people with wide feet have orthotics.

I use orthotics all the time.

I don't think they actually *make* the shoes, but they'll do full repairs, refurbishments, alterations...

I want to know more about your Fluevogs. Were they much more expensive? I am thinking about buying from the store you linked to (the US one) but I don't know if they will arrive before worldcon. Did you need to wear them in at all? I'm looking at the pearl hearts right now, since the malibrans in teal appear to have sold out.
