Laughter like glass breaking.

Ruina bounded up behind Strife, wrinkling her nose at the temple of Ares. She remembered Ares. He had been rather .. rude! But no matter! She wasn't here to see Lord Arse, anyway...

"Striiiife!" she purred, tapping him on one shoulder and darting to the other side, waiting gleefully.

Strife knew Ruina was there, because the laughter kind of gave it away. He knew what she had did, by stepping to the side but he decided to play along.

He looked around and acted confounded when he didn't see no one.

Turning back to look at Hades temple, "Now I could have sworn I heard my name...Ha! Must be the wind! Only the wind!"

She laughed brightly at his play, and tapped his other shoulder, darting to the opposite side of him. Of course he knew she was there, but this was just too much fun.

In a voice she hoped was spooky, she called out, "Striiiifeeee!!! You are being haunted by Ruin!"

She looked down bashfully, shrugging... "I...Well, really... It wasn't really all that much... I was happy to be there."

Toeing at the carpet as she sat, she did her best not to sound mooney.... She wasn't doing a very good job, and she knew it.

Drinking would be good, she decided. So she drank again, deeply.

"What were you up to, before I dragged you away to my lair?"

Her voice was lighthearted again, if somewhat forced.

"No, it was nice. I didn't have many visitors."

He was well aware of how schoolgirl Ruina was acting. But that was okay, because he considered himself grown up enough...

Nothing was going to happen.

"Oh!"

He smiled, "What would you know! Justice dropped out of the sky! Not far from my pad. So I wrapped her in the carpet my Cuz bled on and took her to see my Sis Hope for some threads, because she was without. But then things got a bit...stuffy. So I got outta there."

Changing the subject because he really didn't want to summon Dike here by talking about her too much, "Hey! Did you go to the party?"

She glared at the edge of the coffee table. "Noooo.. I was talking with Mother.. And then we ended up at Aunt Nephy's, in the middle of a fight with Ares. He was trying to kidnap her, I think."

She shook her head.

"So..... I was kinda busy... Parties weren't the first thing on my mind."

Strife's eyes widened with amazement. Ares had tried to kidnap an Egyptian goddess? Strife was sure his Unc had something else up his sleeve, why would he want to kidnap boring ole Heph's broad? Besides, Strife had no doubt in his mind that if Ares wanted to kidnap someone he'd surely succeed, there wouldn't be any trying to it, because Ares was a great schemer. Because Ares was…

Strife got weak in the knees just thinking about how mega cool and hot everything else Ares was. The conflict god was really disturbed by his thoughts.

"No doubt! A-a-a party! It would be the last thing on my mind too!"

Anxiously, "So what happened? Was it...scary?"

Ruina saw how Strife's eyes glazed over slightly, how his lips parted... She was finally getting to him!! She grinned, unsure what exactly she said to finally turn his thoughts in such a manner, but she was excited!

He likes me, he likes me, he likes me, YAY!She couldn't keep from giggling ( ... )

Strife listened, hanging on every word, tucking what was heard away in memory and hoping some of that was exaggerated.

So his Uncle had chained Seth and "Nephy" together, he liked that, not the chaining mind you but the nickname. It was better then having to say Nephthys all the time, and who knows he might just run into Miss Death sometime another.

He really didn't know what Ares would want with chaining Seth for...Chaos was a good thing loose in the world. Hell! Death was a good thing to have loose in the world if you liked bloodshed and winning wars. So what was up with Ares chaining....

Oh! Oh! Voila! Heph's chains! Of course. Ares was having more fun at Heph's expense! He could of had something else in mind too, but Unc always learned from his mistakes. If he really wanted to chain the Egyptian Death goddess, next time there wouldn't be any mistakes.

"That's wow...Some story. Nope you never told me Ares did the zapping thing to you. When did that happen?"

She got a little quiet, then fiddled with the hem of her leather jacket.

"Well... Ah.. Remember when I left, when you weren't feeling well, all tongueless and everything? ..Well..I tracked down Lord Arse, and he was behind his temple, doing something bad to Aunty Nephy. Daddy said it was bad, anyway, and really, I guess with the bruises and all, Aunty Nephy wasn't really liking it. She doesn't like the rough stuff, I guess you could probably figure, which is weird, because hello! Death goddess! You'd think she'd be all right with it, and all down with it like me--uh...I mean.! Well, it's fun..?"

She was turning pink.

"ANYWAY! I showed up, and Lord Arse was pissy with me because I guess I interrupted and everything, but I really just wanted to get your tongue back for you. I didn't really care what he was doing...Well, I guess I do. She is my aunt, after all.. Or step mom, depending on how you look at it..But she's family! And that's what matters!...So...So, yes, so when I showed up, he flipped me off, then he zapped me! He zapped ( ... )

Strife contorted his face to one side, squinty eyed and his tongue bulging through his cheek in contemplation. Ruina had darted off. He was deeply confused as to what he could have said to make her jet off without any exclamation at all...Well that wasn't entirely true, there was "Wait there ( ... )

She turned this way and that so that he could admire her. She loved the feeling of his eyes roving over her way-too-cute form. Her grin was dissolving into giggles, just when Strife mentioned 'timing.' And then she wrinkled her nose.

She was clearly disappointed. Some of the spark fled from her eyes, and she flopped down on the left side of the couch again.

"Only the really, really GOOD bloody engagements are over in a day. That's because the...engagers are damned good.. Take no prisoners! Cry havoc!!"

She was smiling a little again, just at the thought of it. Continuing:

"And Strife... You...and me... together? Together, we could make one divine tragedy of the world. Just think! Just imagine! The things we could do together!"

She tucked her legs under her, and folded her hands in her lap. She looked almost proper in pose, but everything else.... rarh!

"But... Well, I guess you're right. TWO days of bloody screaming and tearing things up, well... As long as the passion isn't lost, I guess it'd be better than just one day. I see ( ... )

Surreptitiously, she pressed against his side, as his arm went around his neck.

He smelled so good... The scent of discord. Ah, but this was lovely.

He went on about his family for a while, and she did listen... Family, after all, was extremely important. And if his family was as complicated as hers, then she'd better listen well!

But when he opened the conversation up for a little Q&A, she grinned, mischeviously.

"Yes, I have a question," she said, her grin fading, and her eyes growing very serious. "Are you..."

..and she snuck her fingers about his waist, and along his other side as well... then innocently smiled. Oh, trouble.

".....ticklish?"

And then she unleashed Tickle Hell upon Strife! Any possible ticklish spot for attack, she used! At the sides, behind the knee, above the knee, behind the neck, the stomach, the stomach, the stomach!

There was a burst of giggles, following defensive attempts to thwart sneaky sly wriggling fingers from prodding ticklish areas. Managing to clasp a hold on Ruina's wrists he methodically pinned her down against the couch. Holding her wrists, red-faced and trying to catch his breath from laughing, "I thought my sisters... were the only ones... who could pull that one over... on me."

She was flushed, herself.

He... had pinned.. her down...

Her mouth went dry, and she squirmed in his grasp, finding herself quite deliciously powerless...and loving it. Her eyes had gone dark, more sultry than she realized she could be. Biting her lip, she looked up at him.

"And now," she murmured softly, her voice like velvet. "Now, what will you do?"
