Strife contorted his face to one side, squinty eyed and his tongue bulging through his cheek in contemplation. Ruina had darted off. He was deeply confused as to what he could have said to make her jet off without any exclamation at all...Well that wasn't entirely true, there was "Wait there!"
Where was she going? What was she doing? Geez, he heard what sounded like she was tearing down a room through...yonder.
When she reappeared, his eyes were startled by the way she was dressed. Did she want to go "out" right now? At this very moment? What about "sometime?" That was the key word. What about putting him off for a few days, at least pretend to show disinterest?
"Mmmm yea..." he blinked his eyes and continued to gawk for a good whole minute before speaking again.
"Divide and Conquer is… good," he took a swig from the tall glass.
"But timing? Well…Is everything..."
Strife stretched his feet out on the couch, " Hah. Ya can't win the war on the first day of a blood spilling engagement. That would just…suck. How much can be destroyed in one day, compared to Oh say…the passing of days, weeks…years?"
Just thinking about it made him anxiousness with glee...
"You look awesome, really you do...but I didn't mean that we drop down there..Oh on the very spot.”
“See…There are things that gotta be, well ya know took care of first, just to ensure me that I don't lose any more... extremities. Dig?”
“I was thinking more of, I dunno..next Friday? With you seeking permission from at least one of your parents…Say your dad? Ya know, so it doesn’t cause any more friction between Greeks and Egyptians. Cause hey, I dig you…but!”
Strife smiled devilishly handsome, “I gotta do things right! Want your parents to like me and all that…Right?” Else if what I’m planning intersects with whatever Unc has planned…it could be a recipe for my own disaster.
“In the meantime…We can chill out here. Get more…cozy?”
She turned this way and that so that he could admire her. She loved the feeling of his eyes roving over her way-too-cute form. Her grin was dissolving into giggles, just when Strife mentioned 'timing.' And then she wrinkled her nose.
She was clearly disappointed. Some of the spark fled from her eyes, and she flopped down on the left side of the couch again.
"Only the really, really GOOD bloody engagements are over in a day. That's because the...engagers are damned good.. Take no prisoners! Cry havoc!!"
She was smiling a little again, just at the thought of it. Continuing:
"And Strife... You...and me... together? Together, we could make one divine tragedy of the world. Just think! Just imagine! The things we could do together!"
She tucked her legs under her, and folded her hands in her lap. She looked almost proper in pose, but everything else.... rarh!
"But... Well, I guess you're right. TWO days of bloody screaming and tearing things up, well... As long as the passion isn't lost, I guess it'd be better than just one day. I see what you mean."
She went back to drinking. Strangely, she didn't seem very affected at all by the alcohol she imbibed. This was the beginning of her third glass. It made one wonder just what went on in this temple behind closed doors. Vice, vice, vice!!
Cocking an eyebrow, she shook her head. "You want me to ask Daddy if it's okay to go out with you next Friday? I'm not Harmonia, you know... I -can- make my own decisions."
But looking across to him, she felt kinda bad. The last girl he was with, he got himself into trouble with her dad, and lost his tongue? She didn't know all the story, of course, but that was pretty stupid. She guessed she could just mention it to Daddy. "Very well, Strife... For you! But don't think I have to get permission from him! I will....but mind, I don't have to!"
Wait. Get more....cozy...??! Awesome!
She edged a little closer to the second occupant of the couch.
"Soooo," she said in a softer voice. "Why don't you tell me more about yourself? Fair enough, since I've done the same?"
