This is all so weird to me. Until about six months ago, I'd never heard about this *at all* - suddenly, it's everywhere.

I know, it's terrible. I feel like there will eventually be a successful vaccine, but in the meantime there will be a lot of awful fallout. I can't imagine trying to get pregnant right now, even somewhere where the mosquitos don't live, and having to stress over even a remote possibility. :( :( :(

Yes, it's truly scary how quickly it's become a multinational health emergency. I have lots of family in Florida who will be on the front lines, so I'm eager to see a cure sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure we'll be raising big dollar amounts with fandom auctions as in days of yore when LJ was hopping, but I figure every little bit helps!
