Yay! Hope the new laptop won't be too traumatic. *g* The one good thing about my computer is that it's been dying a slow death, so while I barely use it now (once a week, generally) as it's so crummy I was at least able to move everything off of it without too much concern. Hope it all works out so you don't lose anything!

When I got my latest computer, I asked a friend to put Vista on it for me because I hated Windows 8. (Vista was at least a step up for me, as I'd spent nearly ten years on Windows 2003 *G*)
I'm sorry to hear about your laptop! I am glad you were able to get some other stuff done while you waited. (And I totally understand about refreshing tumblr and how distracting that can be, I've had to restrict myself when I am writing otherwise I get nothing done!)
