Lovely fic. Abby being Abby and Connor being Connor, but with a hopeful future (I love the title).

Thanks! I got so frustrated with the way Abby treated Connor in series 3, so it was nice to finally write a fix it for that whole situation. I think Abby likes stronger men, so Connor had to stand up for himself before she would finally think he was worth the risk.

Isn't it amazing what you'll say when you think you're dying? lol Glad Connor did, finally, "grow a pair" as far as dealing with Abby. This is how it should have been. He should have questioned and pushed her but if they stupid writers on the show didn't give us this scenerio, then I'm very pleased we have you, m'Dear. This was wonderful and such a brilliant use of the art prompt. Well done. *g*

Thanks! Poor Connor, he just needed a pep talk from Danny, and a little mortal peril to finally stand up to Abby about how she was treating him.

I hated the way they gave us that kiss in 3.8, and then took it back again the very next episode, when I finally thought they had got together. So if the show wouldn't give us what we wanted, there should be fic!

Lovely story! It was great to see Connor finally talking with Abby (but really, really talk) and making things clearer.

Also a hurt!Connor is always a bonus *g*

Thanks! I'd have loved to see Connor actually stand up to Abby about how she treated him in series 3, but of course he never would back then. So clearly he needed a bit of mortal peril and blood loss to push him into it!

That was a great fic! Very tense and exciting and I'm so glad Connor wouldn't let Abby off the hook. The ending feels very fitting, hopeful but not suddenly all worked out. I like the idea of Connor bringing them back to the future so he could find out about the artifact, and how it tied back to Cutter.

Thanks. I do wish they had done more to investigate the artefact in the show. It was brought in as this big important thing when Cutter died, and then they hardly did anything with it until the end, and then suddenly it was gone.

Connor made a promise to Cutter as he was dying that he would find out why it was important, so I think he would be a bit more proactive about investigating it.
