Becker isn’t a great tracker, but he doesn’t need to be to read the story written in the mud.
Connor’s trail suggests he was running in a relatively straight line, occasionally jinking left or right.
The other prints are those of a creature; three-toed, and, Becker thinks, bipedal. They are huge.
Both sets of tracks disappear right in front of the anomaly.
They all know the rules.
Becker turns to his men. “Nobody else goes through this anomaly. Nobody. Especially not Abby Maitland.”
Then Becker disobeys his own order, praying he’ll find more than just footprints on the other side.
