Tuesday evening, January 22, 2008. It is 10:53 and I just finished reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Seriously powerful novel. I absolutely loved it. I loved that book so very much. I also read 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' and loved the hell out of that one, too. It was very different, and there will be moments (if you read authors like I do) where you'll be like, "why is he doing this?"...but then it will all become clear. Hope you like it. It's really....mmm...great read.

That was totally my experience when reading it too. So amazing, and I found I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting one Sunday, just reading reading reading all day long. Pretty crazy. I haven't read A Thousand Splendid Suns yet... and I'm curious about the Kite Runner movie, but also a little hesitant - I don't know how they can ever make it be as good as the book.

Most reviews of the movie said it did NOT do the book justice. So, walking in thinking that, I'll be easily entertained.

Better leave yourse'f some breadcrumbs. To call that "books on my night table" is like calling an ostrich "my wittle birdie"! HA!

I'm on page 33. Just at the point where he is going to read the letter his Baba's friend wrote about the story.
And I wish I didn't know about the fact there are twists 'cause I may see one a-comin'....
