So, last night was cold. Even through my thick charcoal suit, rubber gloves, rubber boots, and a gas mask, it was cold. My rifle damn near froze to my hands. Full chem suit for 6 hours yesterday with nothing to do except a quick walkaround looking for simulated bombs. Today hurts. The surgery went well, no sign of cancer on the other kidney, and she's recovering nicely. Huge load off my back. Also, in unrelated news, the Eddie Izzard show last night at Union Square was hysterical, and wonderful.

Woke up this morni around 11 am, to go have lunch with the lover, and my phone rings. It's mom. my Nana (paternal grandmother) has cancer in her kidney. Possibly both. Tommorrow I find out how serious this is. One kidney, no big deal, routine surgery, over and done with. 2 kidnies, bad. kidney cancer also tends to spread fast, and being the tough ( Read more... )
