I'm annoyed that Paul (who is here, travelled 10 hours to come visit me... again) is causing a friend from school who WAS interested in me, and who I WOULD be interested if I wasn't in love with Paul, to avoid me

speaking from very painful experience, this person probably just needs some time to come to grips with the reality that Paul does exist.
it's not a logical feeling your having, but human emotions aren't logical, are they? that's why you can't trust them.

I have also been in the same situation (as the guy) and I know it really really sucks. I think what makes this weirder for me is that if I wasn't already with Paul, it would be a completely opposite situation. But I'm sure that doesn't help him at all.
I still just miss talking to the guy though. I hope he gets over it.
