Okay, so yesterday I stumbled across this lovely picture on tumblr, and I have a pair of boots sitting around, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I saw a post one time where a girl pimped out her rocking horse shoes and spray-painted them black but she said that after one or two trips out the paint began to crack. Maybe there's some kind of shoe paint out there that won't crack and is durable? Maybe try emulsion paint or try and seal it with something over the top to make it stay.

Sorry I wasn't too helpful but good luck and post results if you do it! ^^

If it's pleather, you *might* be ok with that Fusion spray paint. It bonds with plastics and stuff. You could also use a spray on grey primer paint and then do what you want to over it.

Otherwise, I'd use a flexible glue that's at least water resistant, which should keep everything on with regular movement. Perhaps Shoe Goo (for repairing and gluing shoes together) would work well?
