1. I wouldn't say he was a dirty slut but he was human. Did you honestly expect him to be celibate all those years? I've always assumed that John got some nookie while on the road. Maybe not A LOT, but some. I'm sure he never loved anyone the way he loved Mary but it didn't surprise me that he had a relationship with another woman

1 - I never expected him to be celibate - god no! If he looked like that and saved me from evil I'd put out in a heartbeat! :P But just something about the way same said "he was no monk." made it come off like he was whoring around all the time. idk I'm just in a weird mood tonight. Perhaps thats all. :/ I just took it as John was sleeping around far more often than we'd thought.

3 & 4 - God I love you. srsly. You're so perfect at wording things. My brain is not function tonight. I blame it on the lack of oxygen I'm currently experiencing to due to stuffiness at the moment. But I agree with everything you said. You're amazing jsyk. <3
Honestly, I am not liking Sam at all this season. I don't think we're supposed to, but still. When he suggested they use Adam as bait for whatever it was they were hunting I was just like, "Really, Sam?" He's become so hard and cold. Not even John would use his own sons as bait. In his own fucked up way, John put family first.
I tell you, this is all leading up to an epic Dean vs. Sam showdown. If they don't end up having to fight each other they are gonna have to confront Sam's sudden disregard for human casualties and how he is becoming more and more powerful with his Demon Be Gone mojo. It's not going to be pretty.
Sam has been meh to me this season. He was great in Yellow Fever (my fave episode this season by far!) but the rest of the time I've just wanted to smack him. I know it's the point, but still...
And yeah def. some big Dean vs Sam going down I think. I'm just not sure if it's going to be this season (like the finale) or if we're going to get a small taste of Dean vs Sam this season that would be gearing up for an epic Dean vs Sam in the season 5 finale. Does that even make sense? lol.
1. I agree it seemed out of character for John to be sleeping around but on the other hand I do believe that his treatment of Adam was in character. I firmly believe that John would want to keep him out of it and let him have a normal life. That wasn't an option for Sam and Dean because he had to take them with him, there was no one else to take care of them.
2. It made me uncomfortable because we don't know him at all but if he had the relationship it seems he had with John it's only natural. If we'd known about him all this time then it wouldn't seem so odd.
I agree with what you said about him sheltering Adam was in character. He tried to shelter Sammy when he was little (well Dean tried to shleter him). And perhaps that odd feeling it left me was it being uncomfortable as well. I just... I don't know. lol
