Hi there! Thanks for bidding -- could you please reply to the first bidder so that all the bidding will be in the same thread? Just makes it easier for everyone to keep track of what's going on. Thanks much!

Could it be in Melbourne, Australia? (I'm guessing from your earlier post that you're coming to Worldcon.)

It could indeed, if we can figure out how to get the right supplies and tools there. But I have a thought: if somebody in the Melbourne area (or going there from some less-far-away-and-travel-restrictive place than where I am) is in the market for some good tools, I would be willing to split the cost of those tools with them if I could have the use of them whenever I'm in town. Then we'd order the tools to be sent to their location, and they'd bring them to the convention. And I could use them to teach, sharing them as needed. (Given my arthritis, "good tools" to me would be a set of Lindstroms. Not cheap, but half-price is a pretty serious deal, even with the lending clause.)

And yup, Worldcon in Melbourne. (Also NZ national convention in Wellington the weekend before that. Whee! SO EXCITED!)

I was also wondering about the possibility of remote lessons via videochat. What do you think?

Oh, now, that is a very interesting idea!

I may want to do a separate auction for that, since it's a bit of an experiment. I'm not sure how it would work, but it could be really interesting to try.

Hmm! Thank you for the idea. I shall ponder this, and put it up if I think it'll work. Which it might indeed.
