Man, I hate it when real life intrudes on my writing time.
Title: Sensory Pleasure (part 14/?)
Author: That'd be me. *grins* Andrew, Obsidian, call me what you want. But only if it's nice. ;)
Rating: Yeah, the story has definitely reached R-rated territory. ;)
Previously, on Sensory Pleasure: Lucy gives Amy a driving lesson, with just a touch of missile-related destruction, then gives her a (stolen) diamond necklace, and they go back to her place for dinner... and 'dessert'. Amy wears the necklace to a briefing about the theft of the necklace, no one really notices, and Janet concedes the bet.
Legal Disclaimer: I do not own 'D.E.B.S.', Angela Robinson does. Though if I had my way, there would have been a sequel or two by now. ;)
"Tonight, could I be lost forever?
To drown my soul in sensory pleasure."
~Natalie Imbruglia, Beauty on the Fire (album - White Lilies Island (2001))
The next two days were fairly uneventful. There were no new criminal activities for the DEBS to investigate, Lucy gave Amy a couple more driving lessons, and Amy studied California Motor Vehicle Law, in addition to her regular studies at the academy.
Those, fortunately, were drawing to a close. Graduation was swiftly approaching, and then they would be full-fledged DEBS. Amy was a bit more ambivalent about it then her squadmates, though she had to admit that not having to keep going to classes would be a relief. The DEBS would keep them busy enough to avoid being bored, no doubt, and hopefully, this would mean that, between missions, she'd have more time to spend with Lucy.
If not... Then she'd just have to steal some time during some of their Lucy-related missions.
Finishing up her last piece of homework for the day, she smirked to herself and lay back on her bed. Now Lucy even had her thinking about 'stealing' time.
Endgame, the DEBS end of the year dance, was also coming up, and she was giving serious thought to just blowing it off. It would be a cold day in hell before she even thought about going with Bobby, and - flight attendant fun aside - she really didn't want to go on any kind of date with anyone but Lucy.
And, for obvious reasons, she would have a little trouble bringing her to Endgame.
She wondered if she should give Lucy a bit more time to take care of whatever she was up to today before she went over, or go surprise her now. She knew Max was getting a little curious about who she was dating, being the only one on the team who knew nothing about her at all - not that Max knew that, thankfully. She felt no real desire to tell Miss "I'm going to see if I can get an interview for the International Bureau" anything. And she could hardly keep her quiet the same way she had Janet.
Though she had to admit, kissing Max was hardly an unattractive image.
She couldn't help but wonder how Dominique handled this sort of thing. Maybe it was just because she'd had to repress her sexual impulses for so long - frankly, dating Bobby had been more effective then a cold shower, by the end - that they were all coming out at once, but she was a little concerned by the fact that she kept being tempted to pounce on any female body that wandered close enough... and was wholly unable to resist her impulses with Lucy whatsoever.
Okay, so not being able to keep from jumping on Lucy wasn't exactly the worst thing in the world. The rest of it she could still do without.
Fuck it, she was going to see Lucy now.
After changing out of her uniform - Lucy might not mind it anymore, but Amy still felt a bit uncomfortable showing up at the Evil Lair dressed as a DEB - and making sure she had her wallet and keys (and gun and cuffs, as it had been drilled into her not to go anywhere without them, just in case), she headed downstairs.
Janet and another DEB were seated on the couch, going over what sounded like a convoluted math problem of some kind. She didn't recognize the redhead, but smiled at her, anyway. She was hardly unattractive, Amy noted professionally. She also seemed to share Dominique's opinions about skirts, which, now that she really gave it some thought for once, was hardly a bad thing at all.
The redhead flushed prettily and looked down. Amy raised an eyebrow. Oh ho, she thought. Well, well, well. Wasn't that interesting? Purely as an experiment, she cranked up the wattage the next time the other DEB looked over at her, adding just a touch of 'sultry' to her gaze. The DEB swallowed hard and stared at her, like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.
A sports car that she was wishing had its top down, judging by the look of her.
Janet had noticed that, too. Getting up off the couch, she marched over to Amy - in the process breaking the eye contact Amy had had with the other DEB, who immediately looked away, flustered - and, as soon as she was close enough, began in a low voice, "Look, you walking pheromone-" Amy visibly swallowed a laugh at that, but Janet continued, undaunted, "-Kelly and I are trying to get something done, here. Just go see your girlfriend, already, all right?"
"And just what are you hoping happens here, Janet?" Amy countered with a smirk.
Janet stared at her blankly for a moment, then blushed a little. "Not that," she insisted, though Amy had to wonder if maybe Kelly wasn't hoping for something more.
"Anything you say," Amy said, giving her a grin and winking at Kelly - God, she was so easy to fluster! - before heading out the door.
She couldn't wait to tell Lucy about this one.

Lucy seemed to be involved in some kind of belated spring cleaning by the time Amy arrived - then again, with it being as big as it was, perhaps any kind of cleaning just took more effort then usual - though, she decided after a minute of observation, she might have been done by now if Lucy didn't keep getting distracted by the radio.
Lucy had noticed her a little while ago, and given her a smile before going back to lipsynching into her broom handle. Amy stifled a giggle as she sat down on a nearby couch that looked like it had once been part of a car.
Lucy grinned when the next song began playing, and all but gave up any pretense of cleaning as she sashayed over to Amy, not taking her eyes off of the blonde as she again began mouthing the words.
She was a fast machine
She kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman I had ever seen
She had the sightless eyes
Telling me no lies
Knockin' me out with those American thighs
Taking more than her share
Had me fighting for air
She told me to come but I was already there
Between the third and fourth lines Lucy had settled onto Amy's lap, and grinned wickedly and tapped Amy's leg at the end of the sixth. Amy turned a little red, but otherwise hardly minded.
'Cause the walls start shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were makin it and you -
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me all night long
"All night, huh?" Amy asked hoarsely. She barely even heard the song, anymore, anything but Lucy having vanished from her senses. "That sounds like it might take some effort. Maybe we should start practicing."
Lucy's grin widened as she 'sang' the next verse.
Working double time
On the seduction line
She was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine
Wanted no applause
Just another cause
Made a meal out of me and come back for more
Had to cool me down
To take another round
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing
'Cause the walls were shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
And we were makin it and you -
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me all night long
And knocked me out and then you
Shook me all night long
You had me shakin' and you
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me
Well you took me
You really took me and you
Shook me all night long
Ooooh you
Shook me all night long
Yeah, yeah, you
Shook me all night long
Your really took me and you
Yeah you shook me, yeah you shook me
All night long
By the time the song ended, Lucy's cheeks were starting to hurt from smiling so much, and Amy had all but melted into a puddle on the couch. She would have done anything Lucy asked her in that instant. Quit the DEBS, become Lucy's partner, walk around wearing nothing but a collar and a leash, it wouldn't have mattered. "Luce," she croaked out.
"Aww, is my Baby a bit wound up?" Lucy cooed sweetly. "I wonder if I should do something about that."
"If you don't, there's someone back at my place who would be only too happy to," Amy countered, though right at that second, she was having trouble even remembering her own address, let alone the other DEB's name.
"Oh, don't worry, I'm not inhumane enough to make you leave in this condition," Lucy assured her. She got up and tugged Amy to her feet. "Come on, I could use a shower."
She made it three steps before Amy tackled her to the floor.
**********************************************
"Your floors are too hard," Amy complained later as she cuddled against Lucy on the couch.
"Well, you do know you're not supposed to pounce on people like that on hardwood flooring, don't you?" Lucy countered. She'd finally gotten her shower - which had taken about twenty minutes longer then it should have, since Amy had joined her to "help" - and the feel of Amy's cool, damp hair against her hot neck was heavenly.
"Still, you could have put carpeting down."
"Then we just would have gotten rug burn."
"True." This was bliss. Laying there against Lucy, inhaling the clean scent from her freshly scrubbed skin, without a care in the world... She could have stayed there forever.
Naturally, it couldn't last. "Luce, we just got a message," Scud called as he bounded up the stairs. Amy thought that was nice of him to call ahead like that, giving them a chance to cover up if they'd been in a... compromising position.
"Who from?" Lucy asked, making no effort to rise from her comfortable position on the couch.
"Ninotchka Kaprova."
She frowned. "That Russian girl you tried to set me up with? What does she want?"
He shrugged. "I'm not sure, exactly. She asked for a meeting. Claims to have some kind of proposition for you. And I got the feeling that it wasn't that kind, either. She sounded a bit... reluctant." He paused. "Of course, given her accent, her hesitation might have just been caused by her trying to find the right words in English, for all I know."
"I suppose I should see what she wants," Lucy said, sounding a bit reluctant herself. And given the way her life usually worked... "Let me guess, she wants to meet now?"
Scud shifted uncomfortably. "Well, not right this second, but she made it clear that the sooner this could be done, the better."
Lucy sighed. Was there some higher force at work, here, that enjoyed continually breaking up her time with Amy? "Babe, I'm sorry about this, but-"
"When do we leave?" Amy interrupted.
Lucy blinked at her. "We?"
"What, you expect me to just sit around while you met with a Russian assassin who won't even specify why she wants to see you? Like hell I am!"
Despite the situation, Lucy had to grin. "You're so cute when you're protective."
Amy smiled back, then prompted, "So?"
Lucy shrugged. "No sense in putting it off. Scud, call her back and set up a meet at... The Junk Pit, in ten minutes. That should keep her - and whoever she's working with - from having enough time to set up anything unpleasant."
"Can we even get there in ten minutes?" Amy asked as he left to do so.
Lucy grinned again.
**********************************************
"No wonder you usually let him drive when you're on a job," Amy said, impressed despite herself as she climbed out of the backseat of Lucy's car.
Well, after she finished prying her hands free from the seat, anyway.
"Hey, he is, among other things, a professional wheelman," Lucy replied. She looked around the club as they walked in. Given the time of day, it wasn't very crowded, which was a good thing in that it meant it would be harder for Ninotchka - and whoever else was with her - to try and hide anything or anyone, and a bad thing in that it meant it would be just as hard for her to do the same thing.
"All right, Scud, find someplace unobtrusive outside to hide yourself where you can watch the door," Lucy decided. "I wanna have some warning when she's coming, and who with. I'll be at the bar. Amy, go sit somewhere that you can see me without being obvious that you're watching me."
"Okay... though, honestly, I doubt anyone would blame me for staring, even if I got caught," Amy pointed out.
"Heh," Lucy chuckled. She was wearing a somewhat tight black t-shirt and the same leather pants she'd worn the first time she'd met Amy, and it hadn't escaped her attention how much Amy seemed to like her in them. Or taking them off of her, for that matter.
Lucy had handed her a tiny comm device before they'd left her lair, and she and Lucy acknowledged Scud as he tested it again. "Over there?" she asked, pointing to a table near the back that had an unobstructed view of the bar.
Lucy nodded. "Works for me."
They didn't have long to wait, as Ninotchka was either as good - or crazy - a driver as Scud was, or whoever had driven her was. Scud had barely gotten in position before a blonde that he recognized from the information Zeda had sent him while they'd been trying to find a date for Lucy. The shorter person with her he couldn't quite get a good look at. It was definitely a woman, but... "One Russian assassin and one unknown heading inside now," he said quietly.
"I see 'em," came Amy's reply. Scud lingered outside for another minute, but there was no sign of anyone else showing up. The back of the brunette's head had looked oddly familiar, though, so he headed inside, just in case.
"You are Lucy?" a thickly accented voice asked her as she took a swig of her newly arrived beer.
Lucy turned to regard the blonde. "Miss Kaprova," she said in acknowledgment.
"Da. Is too bad our date was canceled. But is water under bridge. I met someone else, but..." She looked somewhat embarrassed. "She wishes to do business with you."
"Then why didn't she approach me herself?" Lucy asked, not sure if she liked where this was going.
"Because you wouldn't have come if I'd asked," a new voice replied, and Ninotchka edged out of the way, leaving Lucy staring into a face she hadn't seen in two years.
"Connie."
**********************************************
Amy almost choked on the first sip of her freshly arrived peach smoothie (and she had to admit, this place had really good service). She'd heard just enough about Lucy's ex to know that her showing up now could not possibly be a good thing.
"What are you doing here?" she heard Lucy ask over the comm link. Clearly, she was thinking the same thing.
"To do business." Connie sounded far too amused for Amy's taste. "You've done well for yourself."
"Yes, I have," Lucy agreed. "Why, it's as if I never needed you at all." Silently, Amy cheered her on.
"Oh, now don't be like that," Connie chided playfully. "You can't deny we worked great together. And you know you had fun with me."
"'Worked'. 'Had'. Both past tense. And if you insist on putting it in business terms, the position has been filled." Not strictly true, but Amy wasn't about to point that out now.
"Yes, I've heard about your new partner." Connie feigned nonchalance, but even from where she was sitting Amy could tell that her smile had sharpened. "Lucky for you she's so good at saving your ass, or you would have gotten in trouble a couple of times, now."
"It was you, wasn't it?" Lucy was no doubt remembering the conversation that she and Scud had had after the mildly disastrous jewelry store heist. Amy remembered it, too, and realized that, yes, the ex that Lucy had dated for however many years would be able to guess how Lucy operated well enough to cause her some trouble. "Those NSA agents, the store, the tip-off to the feds... all of it."
"Well, of course." She smiled, and Amy wanted to punch her. "I had to see if you were still the best. And you did not disappoint." A grin. "But then, you never did."
Did she say punch? She meant maim.
"Interesting show, da?"
"Da. Uh, I mean, yeah." Amy realized with chagrin that she'd been so focused on Lucy and Connie that she'd Ninotchka walk right up to her table and sit down without noticing. Some spy I am. "You do know that's Lucy's ex, right?"
"Shut up, Connie," Lucy said, sounding annoyed. Amy was proud of her.
"I suspected." She paused. "She's just trying to use me, isn't she?"
"Connie always did look out for number one," Scud said as he quietly joined them.
It was getting hard for Amy to focus on two conversations at once, so she temporarily deactivated her comm. Scud would tell her if she missed anything important. "Didn't she dump Lucy?"
"Hard," Scud confirmed. "Took her a while to get over it. But after meeting you... Well, I don't think she'd ever even think about taking Connie back in ANY respect."
Ninotchka studied her. "You are her new girlfriend?"
Amy smiled reflexively. "Yeah, I am. I think we met a day or two before you would have had your date, but... Well, when it's right you just know it, you know?"
The Russian nodded. "Is just as well, then. I was not looking for relationship."
She had to admit, Ninotchka was taking all this rather well. "I suppose it's not that easy meeting people in your line of work," she offered.
"It is not. But I do it just to pay bills. Mostly... I vant to be dancer." Amy had to jerk back to avoid being hit by a sudden (and not terribly graceful, in her unprofessional opinion) upward motion of her hands.
"I know how you feel. Growing up, I just wanted to go to art school, but... Well, life takes you unexpected places, sometimes."
"This is true."
They spent a little time discussing their respective interests before Scud broke in. "I hate to interrupt the Appreciation of the Arts Society, but you may want to listen to this."
Concerned, Amy turned her comm back on in time to hear, "-o threatening me?"
"Oh, Lucy... Would I do that? All I'm saying is that if you don't agree to work with me, then I'll hardly be in any position to stop the government from coming after you, will I?" She was probably trying for 'sincere', but Amy wasn't hearing it.
Not that she was biased against the woman, or anything.
"And she can't just... get rid of her, or something?"
"And leave her free to do God knows what to sabotage us? I doubt she'll even try."
"Hmm..." Amy stared at her girlfriend and the hated ex contemplatively. "Do you think Lucy would mind if I just arrested the bitch?"
"You are a cop?" Ninotchka asked in surprise.
"Actually, I'm a DEB."
"Does she know?"
"Yes." A pause, and she smiled slightly. "They don't, of course."
"Ah. Then as you say, my lips are sealed."
Her smile widened. "Thank you." She turned to Scud. "So?"
He considered it. "If you could do it without being exposed? Probably not. But she'd hate the idea of getting you in trouble."
Amy mulled that over for a second, then turned to Ninotchka. "How are you at distractions?"
The Russian smiled.
Back at the bar, Lucy was quickly running out of what little patience she had left. The trouble was, she didn't know how to get rid of Connie without starting a fight she wasn't sure she could win. She had, after all, managed to locate several corrupt NSA agents and bribe them into taking a shot at Lucy Diamond, and had set a trap for her at a jewelry store that only Amy's assistance had let her slip out of so cleanly. Who knew what other resources were at her disposal? "What is it going to take to make you go away?" she finally demanded.
"You don't want my company?" Connie pretended to pout. "I'm hurt, truly I am."
"You're the one who didn't want mine anymore, remember?" And it almost didn't hurt at all to think about that anymore. That, Lucy knew, was largely due to Amy.
"I'm not allowed to change my mind?"
"Don't you already have a partner?"
"What, Ninotchka?" Connie laughed. "Oh, please! If you actually had gone on that date with her, you would have been ready to fake food poisoning to get out of it after five minutes. She may be good in the sack, but that only gets you so much slack, you know? And she's nothing compared to you?"
"Is that so?" a new voice interjected coldly. Lucy blinked to find that Ninotchka had rejoined them when she wasn't looking.
Looking wholly unapologetic, Connie said, "Don't get me wrong, I had fun. But that's all it was. Frankly, I thought that was all you were looking for."
"So you use me to get back at your ex?"
She shrugged. "Business is business."
"Are you blowink me?" Lucy stared, and she suspected she wasn't the only one. The Russian seemed to realize that hadn't come out quite the way she wanted, and clarified, "...off? Are you blowink me off?"
"Can't get anything past you."
That was all she had to say, because right then, Amy, who had walked right up behind her while everyone's attention was on Ninotchka, slammed the butt of her gun down on Connie's head. "Oh, you have the right to remain silent," she said somewhat belatedly to the brunette crumpled on the floor. She smiled pleasantly. "Anything you have to say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Yes, even if you talk in your sleep. If you understand these rights as I've read them to you, don't say anything."
Connie, for obvious reasons, said nothing.
"Excellent!" Amy said, clapping her hands as best she could while still holding her gun. "Understanding is the key to good communication, after all."
Lucy gave up and laughed aloud. "Amy, are you-"
"Relax," Amy said, cutting her off. "She never saw me, so she won't be able to cause me any trouble later on. I'll just say that I recognized her while I was out from a picture I'd seen of her while we were looking up any information we had on you, and got the drop on her. She's wanted for plenty of things, so there shouldn't be a problem with that." She knelt down and cuffed the unconscious Connie while she spoke. Standing up, she nodded at Ninotchka. "Thanks for your help."
"Is no problem," Ninotchka replied, waving it off. "I dislike being used."
"Don't we all?" Lucy mused, staring dispassionately down at her ex-girlfriend. She couldn't find it within herself to hate the woman for what she'd done... though, at the same time, she also couldn't find an ounce of pity for her about her fate.
"If that is all, then, I will take my leave." Amy made a quiet squeaking sound as she passed behind her, shooting the other blonde a look. Ninotchka merely smiled back at her, then departed.
Amy, rubbing the spot on her ass that Ninotchka had pinched, muttered something that Lucy didn't understand, and wasn't entirely sure if she wanted explained.
"Walking pheromone, indeed."
I'm sorry for the delay. It's been a bit of a hectic week or so. The lyrics are "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC.
