How Odd

... Honestly I thought that the patients coming into the hospital ask some very odd questions.  Well this morning i had an even bigger bit of oddity .... I answered the phone to find it was our Switchboard ... and they actually asked me for the phone number of one of the departments!  Huh!!!!   That's the job of switchboard, surely

I do wonder about switchboards sometimes. This has died off now but a while ago I used to get spammed by the one at work putting through calls for, let's say Tony Stark in a completely different department while dialling the number that used to belong to Ned Stark who left a couple of years earlier (I eventually tried typing Stark into the staff directory myself out of curiosity after a few of these calls, Tony was there under his correct number and Ned had gone, so no idea why these calls were being put through!)

We have an automated voice recognition on our switchboard, as well - but most of the time when I say I name they just say "unrecognised, putting you through to switchboard".

Whether that's a good thing ... or not!!

I was a Famous Five fan, getting their books passed on to me, or from the library.
