Sorry I didn't get the photos posted on Monday. Claire had been working at a different location and so she popped in to see me on her way home after lunch ... and sat & chatted ... and didn't leave until she realised Tim would have been home before her! What a nice day out. My 'in-law friend' is actually my daughter's mother-in-law :) Chris and I meet up quite often.

I love the leather ladies - and their role in the household. I once read somewhere that the Savoy used to have a large toy cat to use for the same thing - although I've no idea if that is true!

I think I would prefer to sit next to a cat rather than these ladies ... they look quite scary.

Apparently my 2 grandfathers were close on the rare occasions they got together. I am lucky that I get on well with both the girls.

My grandfathers were both widowers, and both lived with us when I was a child. They were good friends, too.

A day off .... but not a lazy day.

All of my days off are like that. Non-stressed but full of little accomplishments. :)

Great news about your hand!

Non-stressed but full of little accomplishments ... what I occasionally find hard is when you have a day that is busy, yet when you look back you can't remember what you actually managed to do.

Thanks - my hand is still slightly sore, but at least I know I can keep working as I won't be doing any damage.

I don't know if I would want to be sat next to one of those leather people.

For my 40th there were 13 people ... and we had a great time!
