Happy (Belated) 60th Birthday Dr Who

Technically it was on Thursday, but it was also 60 years ago tonight that Dr Whos Tardis arrived on Planet Earth for the first time.  We didn't have a TV 60 years ago, however Mum & Dad's closest friends did.  They had a girl my age, and a boy 3 years older ... we used to often go there for Saturday evening tea (& they used to come to us, as well

i'm looking forward to the special, too! my first experience with the doctor was when tom baker played him. i was pretty young and was hooked. :)

I think Tom Baker was the last of the Doctors that I really watched until they did the re-vamp. He was great

I think the first Doctor I remember seeing at the time was Patrick Troughton, but the first one I remember well was the next one, whose name I have momentarily forgotten!

That was Jon Pertwee ... and yes I think he was the one I remember the most from those early seasons
