I thought I would cross-post my photo_scavenger pictures here. Not brilliant images, but just love the chance to share with you a couple of interesting stories. The prompts were sewing & embroidery

Your mother was extremely skilled - I love the picture she did for you.
I have a part-finished hexagon patchwork, started over 40 years ago, but never say "abandoned"! It's a soothing thing to do, and nice to use pieces of fabric that carry memories. Well done with yours!
I love them! All four of the pieces you've shown us. Needlework (mostly counted cross stitch but I enjoy various types of embroidery and crochet as well) is one of my favorite hobbies.
Funny, a few months ago, my mom gave me a quilt that's the same pattern (not the same fabric of course) as your bedspread. She began it in 1976 and worked on it off an on over the years, just finishing it this year. She's done multiple other quilts and knitted things in the meantime but this one she only worked off and on. The best thing about it is she learned to make it from my Great Uncle Bill's wife in Nottingham when she and my dad visited England in the summer of 1976. The first piece in the quilt was one my great aunt made to show mom how to do it, so it has a direct link to England and to my dad's family. (G.U. Bill was my grandpa's brother.)
I do love crochet(as well as other things) ... but sadly I also love procrastination!!
Well I think there must have been some sort of TV programme over here or something - as I did start it in 1976!!! Honest!!!! I damaged my ankle and had to have a week off school, and the followng day our neighbour brought over the first pieces, and the pattern (so thank you Auntie Kath)
