A much-needed update

I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate your kind words, your encouragement, and your patience. Clearly, my slacker self does not deserve them.

Obviously, I am still alive (I hope nobody was actually concerned on that count!). I have no intention of completely abandoning The Apprentice; if, God forbid, I actually got to that point, I would, at ( Read more... )

I'm so happy to hear from you! And also happy for you - commitment ceremony as in engagement, right? :) whoa 1000 origamis And a job that you love - having got the same blessing, I understand what a relief and satisfaction is to do what one was born to. Or as close as possible to that, anyway ;)

Please know that waiting for updates is a-okay, you don't have to apologize to us! Real life must take precedence, obviously, and if writing becomes a chore instead of a pleasure, well, that defeats its purpose, in my opinion. Moreover, better an update every n-months than an abandoned story ;3

So, now that I've gushed and blabbed, I'll be on my way. Cheers, and have a good weekend!

Btw, I was re-reading The apprentice just today during lunch break... divination? lol

AWE-SOME!

I'm so glad to see you back. And congrats on the job, I'm happy for your happiness - few things are as soul-sucking as a job that sucks.

I like your plan, and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Seriously, woman, that is great news!

Don't burn yourself out. shanghairain May 1 2012, 02:50:23 UTC
Seriously.

In any long-term creative project, burnout and getting sick of the project--losing sight of what made it fun and awesome in the first place--is toxic, and will certainly destroy your productivity.

Don't let the internet pressure you into adopting a more aggressive release schedule than you're prepared to take on. Keep writing, by all means, and let us know what's going on, but don't lose sight of why what you're doing is awesome.

I really hope you update soon - it was a wonderful story! Please don't allow it to disappear into the ether.

Based on what you have said above, I'm looking forward to an update by the end of May. I *love* this story, and I frequently go back and reread it. It would be just awesome to have a new chapter to read at the end of the old ones. :)

I'm so glad you are posting about setbacks. It makes it so much easier to wait when you know what is going on with the author, rather than wondering what happened to the lovely story. Thank you!
