[Compile] Il Forte, Grimmjow, Yumichika, Rukia, Byakuya

The draw of negative energy this time was unmistakable. There were no slurs of confusion, no white against those red threads that littered the air in sweeps about him. They coiled about Byakuya’s fingers, wrapping about his skin, tight with eagerness, as he picked up his pace to follow their lead, following that enticing trail of crimson before his eyes.

There were arrancar about. Two, specifically. Both strong, very strong, that was what the spiritual threads told him. They led the captain to an open area, not too far off. Close enough to evaluate the terrain, and most especially; to evaluate the immensely familiar reiatsu that he could feel, one of which Byakuya came immediately to recognize in an instant. Rukia.

What was she doing here? How had she been involved with arrancar?

Seeing a fellow shinigami, a seated one more correctly, and his sister beginning to do battle against two arrancar, there was no question about what Byakuya would do next: He dropped gigai, and unsheathed Senbonzakura, his eyes ready for battle. Logic whirred at his mind, wondering why the appearance of two arrancar was so sudden and unexplainable. Wondering why, more so, his sister tended to attract trouble from time to time.

No matter. Questions would be saved for later-- when both of the arrancar were exterminated.

Byakuya went to engage one of the two arrancar, brushing away the desire to watch his sister battle by herself, and assess how strong she’d become in the past months. There would be time for that later on. Proper time when his training would be put into effect. Later, he reminded himself, later.

Byakuya took a step forward, blade in hand, his scarf a trail of white behind him against the crimson that wrapped themselves about his body. His mind bearing the intent to do more harm to those who mistakenly believed they could cause it.

"Looks can be deceiving," Rukia answered the arrancar shortly, eyes narrowing as she moved away from Ayasegawa to give him room to fight the longer haired arrancar, and give herself room to evade anything this one could throw at her. It annoyed her lightly, the arrancar implying just because she wasn't as blood thirsty as an 11th divisioner, or with the overwhelming reiatsu as some of the other shinigami, she couldn't pose any sort of threat.

Hmph. She'd show them.

Before the girl could cast the first stone, her head turned slightly, eyes widening as she noticed and recognized another shinigami's reiatsu very close by. "Nii-sama...?"

Before she could look over at the older noble, Rukia snapped her head back to look at Grimmjow, annoyed with herself. No. She did not just feel any sort of *relief* at knowing her brother was nearby. How did she expect anyone to ever take her seriously as a shinigami if she didn't first herself and she relied on others?

It was good Byakuya was here. So he could see....

"Evening shade, bloody mist, jeweled eye of the bird. Carry the night, strike down upon thee. And know thy name," Rukia intoned under her breath, moving her hand from her zanpakuto hilt to make the motions through the air with her hand. A long glowing form of greenish energy coalesced in her hand and with a flick, she sent it slashing towards Grimmjow, finishing the incantation, "Way of destruction, number 19! Swath of the Jade Owl!"

"Oh?" Il Forte's smirk widened and he chuckled softly, sweeping his gaze towards Yumichika. "So you're not only attractive, but you've got quite the sense of humor. Make no mistake, I admit your beauty surpasses many of the shinigami I've faced, but against myself? That beauty pales, and the only way I can brighten it is by shedding your blood."

He'd missed witty banter with his opponents, and Byakuya was quickly given a wary look before he disregarded the captain completely and lunged at the 11th Divisioner, blade neatly angled to slash at his shoulder. One couldn't properly hold a zanpakuto if their arm was crippled, right?

His eyes were on the girl shinigami, but he didn't miss the new guy with the more impressive reiatsu. "Come to watch me kill her?" He chuckled as he thought about taking the new one down as soon as the girl stopped pretending she could actually fight against him and win. That shinigami looked a little more like an opponent, someone who would give him some sort of challenge and that made him want to end this fight as fast as he could.

Grimmjow didn't take a cheap shot when the girl looked like she was distracted by the appearance of the new guy, but as soon as he started seeing the green energy he made a move to get closer to her. His steps were steady and determined, but not as fast as they could be. They were just fast enough for him to slide his body to her right allowing his white, jacket-like shirt to billow up catch most of the kidou that came at him. It was still able to brush by his waist, but he didn't give the wound that barely was one a second thought. Instead, his thoughts were on the shinigami and how well she could take his hits.

"That was it?" His right hand quickly formed a fist, bringing it back so it would have enough force to come back do some damage, or at least knock his opponent back a few steps. Soon, Grimmjow's fist was heading past his side and straight for her stomach, his body bending at the waist just enough so that he could make sure his fist did come in contact with the shorter girl's stomach rather than her chest or, if it was way off, the bottom of her chin. "I thought I heard something about how looks could be deceiving, but, heh, you're just as weak as you look."
