You've done an amazing job of playing out what makes their relationship so special...and good god, I teared up when they held hands under the table! I just love this from beginning to end...and I can totally see it all playing out just this way. A slow build to an understanding and acceptance that they're it for each other.
And though it seems unfair to praise one scene over another given how fantastic it all was...I have to say that the holding hands scene, the actual "coming together scene" and that group scene at the end made me completely giddy with how much I love your writing AND these characters. Pierce's "Gay!" comment had me howling in recognition - because of COURSE he'd say that. Just perfect.
Yup. I'll say it again. Completely EPIC.

I love the little collisions here and there, as if both are just waiting and waiting but somehow are sick of waiting, too. I like that until the end, they never seem to be on the same page at the same time.I kind of love how you've described that. It's kind of blowing my mind a little how people are taking different things away from it that I didn't necessarily even mean to put in there ( ... )

I'm glad you liked David. And I'm totally interested in your point of view as a guy. I hated breaking his heart (especially because in my head I had a really clear view of who he was and his back story and why on paper he was perfect for Annie) which is why I think I didn't actually write the break-up scene. I never wanted to paint him as a villain or a bad guy, just this person who unfortunately got caught between two people that were being gravitationally pulled together. I'm glad that came across and that he was a character you were able to like. Even if I had to break him a little in the end. :(
And I'm so glad you caught all those references! At first I was going to have Troy do the Charleston with her and then I was like, "Oh no, it HAS to be Abed. Obviously."
Again, thank you so much for this awesome comment. It makes me feel all warm and squishy.
