"Nope, nope, that's not supposed to be there. Could have sworn that second portal was on the left, not the right. And - oh hells bells! Where the hell did this lake come from? This wasn't here before

And being duly pounced, she hugs back quite vigorously.
And of course, being Leela. She must DENY, deny, avoid and evade!
"Impression? What impression? Thought I was rather good at doing the wallflower in the corner thing. Never came out of my shell all night." Of course she's joking, you can see it in her eyes.
"Sauriel?" *blink blink, bright blue oh so innocent eyes*
"We talked some at dinner, and he and Hyou escorted me to the fire so I wouldn't trip in my skirt. Seems like a really nice man." Is she being deliberately elusive? Totally.
Hills don't shine nearly so pretty in the sun. Normal hills. Hills made of gold do, however. Hills made of golden scales shine even better! Hell, they practically glow, they're so shiny. So this is not a normal hill, unless it was a hill of golden scales. And only one thing is big enough to have that kind of bling.
But is he awake even? Or is he just resting, chilling out, taking a break maybe? This calls for closer investigation to find out. So of course, that's exactly what she does. Go closer to find out, that is.
On closer inspection, the hill seems to be gently rising and falling at regular intervals, approximately once every other minute or so. And while it may have been difficult to ascertain from that far away, up close a light snoring noise seems to emanate from the hill!
Odd thing, though. That head poking out from the side? The eyes are open. They don't seem to be looking at anything, but open nonetheless...
And then, with no apparent transition, there's a sign. A sign that states: What up there, Pretty Lady Lee?
Reading the sign, she crouches down a bit and stares into that huge, wide open, yet sleeping eye. Looking up at the sign and then back down at the dragon's face she whispers "I'm looking for a big red shoe."
"Sorry I can't be much 'elp, I don't come around 'ere much anymore meself. Keep meaning too, though. Um. Guess you couldn't text the friend and ask 'em for more specific PINpoint coordinates?" Thorn smiles weakly up at her, although it's not nearly as far up as it once was. He seems to have, since he first came to live with her, gained a few inches in height.
And she's looking at him, wondering just how young he was when he came to live with her, because being so short as she is, things like a few inches can be really noticeable.
"I'm just getting out of the house finally." As he can tell, of course. But still she has to say it. It's like compulsion. "And truthfully? I don't know if this person even has a PINpoint. It never came up in conversation."
The change has been a gradual one, but he has claimed to be over twenty-one from the very beginning. Certainly he looks younger than that, and perhaps due to the blisters and scabs he shows no signs of growing facial hair any time soon.
"I should do that more. 'S mostly the 'ouse and school." He spends more time in the garden or the woods surrounding the house than he does inside of it, but it's still the St. Germaine property. "Guess not everybody uses 'em. 'M sorry I can't be more 'elp Miss Leela."
"We all should, Thorn. Get out of the house and explore. The nexus doesn't seem near as bad as it used to be."
"Nope, and like me, today? Wanted to go the long way around and see if I could still do it. And ah, for the record?" She lowers her voice, embarrassed. "I've been lost for nearly three hours. It was fun exploring but yea, still lost. So I'm glad you came by when you did. Which portal'll take me home again?"
Tall and slightly looming in black, The Shadow pauses to regard the young lady with purple hair. "I don't believe there is, at least I haven't found one yet, but there should be a map. And some sort of guidebook for newcomers." It might be safe to assume he does not know the location of said giant red shoe either.
"A guidebook would be excellent. Something like a Hitchhiker's guide to the nexus or whatever." That causes a nod, as she looks up at the taller man.
"Even an interactive map, showing 'hey, you are here at the moment, but it might be over here later on' or something like that. But then, we'd have to find someplace in the nexus that doesn't move or change so we could put it there."
"An interactive map?" He raises a hand to the chin concealed behind a red scarf, and a heavy ring flashes on the third finger. "I hadn't thought of that, because I've never seen such a thing, but surely the technology here would make it possible."
"Haven't seen it yet either, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Just means that whatever powers this place hasn't done it. Yet. But now that it's been mentioned? Something'll probably pop up out of nowhere one day doing just that."
She doesn't want to get too close to this disguised man, after all, he's in black and wearing a scarf to hide his face - don't robbers and such do those things? Still, he's polite so she will be also.
"Built in compass in my head, maybe? Don't know, but I rarely get lost. Maybe it is because I constantly count on things moving and changing, so I just sort of use my apartment building as a fixed point and go from there." He pauses with a sort of comically wry expression on his face, as if he just thought of something. "So in other words; if that ever decides to move around, I'm screwed."
"That would be neat, not getting lost. I do it on a regular basis myself." She pauses, and ponders out loud. "But is your apartment in the nexus? Some places are you know. And if it is, it might just decide to move around after all."
"Maybe I should mention that I also cheat. It's pretty easy to find one's way from a bird's view." Big grin there. "Yeah, my home's here in the Nexus. Thought I'd take advantage of the AV fields and all when I found myself with a kid, you know?"

Mostly because she's one of the few females he's allowed to pounce, but hey.
"Lovely, Lovely Leela! You made quite the Impression the other night."

Is that a sphinx, then? Nah, much too motionless... and without asking riddles!
Well then, is it a Zhilbar? ....
You know, I think it is! It IS a Zhilbar!
He doesn't seem to be saying anything so far though.
