There is a May crawling the Nexus walls. Nothing extraordinary about this, really, although the box of decorations she's carrying are new. She hums as she hangs things up around the Nexus - stockings, wreaths, mistletoe, ornaments - before leaping down to ask a question ( Read more... )

Ned finds his feet quite uncooperative.

This makes him quite angry, though he doesn't yell or shout or any of the sort. He instead crosses his arms across his chest and looks annoyed. He does keep trying to move his feet, experimentally, every so often. He's just assuming that it's the fault of those little plants up there, which will thus be receiving his wrath once he can move.

"Yes," Ned says shortly, impatient for witticisms. "If you don't have a solution, I'll thank you to not bother me. If you do, then I'll thank you to help."

Cranky Ned is Cranky. Also unamused.

This is, of course, where the Doctor wanders blithely in.

"Mistletoe? Excellent, we're running low. This should keep us lycanthroform-free for years!"

And he manages to pluck a sizeable handful from a Nexus doorway (even if it does grow right back) before realising... he's stuck. Very stuck.

"Oh, no...."

Now why does he look familiar?

...probably an anomaly.

"Oh hullo, crumpet, get caught, did we?" Miriam breezes past; light one-armed hug, kiss on the cheek and she steps away with an arch little smile, cane tapping once on the floor. "There we are. Now what's your story?"

He blinks--as much at having been smooched by a complete stranger as at being referred to as 'crumpet.' Ah, well, he's been called far worse.

"Thank you." He takes a few steps away from said mistletoe, just to be sure, and looks about to make sure he's out of range of any more of the stuff. "My story? Erh... well, I was only passing through, thought maybe I'd gather some of this stuff. Rather silly of me that I didn't stop to think it'd have a Nexus Effect attached..." He smiles a bit sheepishly, scratching his scalp and ruffling the floofy hair before remembering that maybe introductions might be a good thing. "I'm the Doctor. And you are...?"

"You're quite welcome. I thought that would be less awkward than standing about waiting on a friend. Though a few of my friends are caught who could use a buss or two, so I'm happy to let them steam a bit." Her pale eyes dance.

"A friend told me recently that even angels spill their tea on occasion. He was actually in a position to know." His admission gets a look of surprise. "You're the Doctor?"

...perhaps I shouldn't admit to Daimon that I just flirted mildly with the father of his perennial crush-object. Hee...

"Well! Goodness. I was speaking to the Brigadier about you just the other day. Did you ever meet up?" She extends a hand to shake. "Miriam Neiman. From yet another Earth-alternate."

Victor was busy studying for exams, and because of this she neither heard May nor saw the mistletoe. But she did realize when she couldn't walk forward anymore. She looked up from her chemistry textbook and checked her feet to make sure she didn't step in interdimensional chewing gum. "Er. What?"

Daimon is still trying to figure out what's going on. "You all right over there?"

She waved hello. "Just, ah, standing. Doing that thing. Where I stand." She drew in a deep breath, and fidgeted. She fidgeted like she had never fidgeted before, which was clearly untrue. "Whaaaaat's going on?"

"Um, well...looks like another magical prank. We're stuck under the mistletoe. All of us. Oh God, there's poor Danica, I don't think she's ever even been kissed." He laughs ruefully. "I don't see any signs of anyone filming blackmail footage..." He notices someone walking off. "Hey, that person left. How'd they manage...?" He starts watching those around them. "Try not to panic...."

Alexa laughs her ass off.

...I mean. Feels terribly sorry for May and... yes. "See? This will teach you to try to get in the holiday spirit!" She tries to contain her laughter, really. Really.

If May wasn't so busy trying kiss help the many cute guys people caught under the mistletoe, she'd be shaking her fist at Alexa right now. As it is, though, she manages about half a shake before getting caught and crashing to the ground yet again.

She's a giver, that one, and this time Alexa laughs so hard she doubles over... and falls to the ground, too. The laughter stops as she registers that she just got smacked with the karma LOL bus. (See what you get for making fun of family members? See where it leads?)

"...oh no. Noooo way. Noway." Yes way! Struggle as she might, there is another Spidey stuck to the floor. Alexa's face: a mixture of D: and askdfk!!!.

Now it is May's turn to point and laugh! Mwahahaha, karma is just so sweet. "Gee, Alexa, if I didn't know better I'd think you might need help! How incredibly tragic. Whatever will I do."

Hey, nobody said a sisterly kiss on the cheek wouldn't work. May just has to stop laughing first.

Ash isn't even paying attention to where he's going, he's so intent on getting his Christmas shopping done. He's even got a duffel full of stuff slung on one shoulder.

He's ticking off names on his list when he suddenly finds himself stuck under a sprig of mistletoe. He attempts to keep walking - which doesn't work and in fact almost leads to him losing his bag - then glares hatefully up at the item that's so obviously trapped him. Sadly it's just out of reach and he can't tear it down and rip it to small pieces.

"Oh horsefeathers," he mutters grumpily.

"Excuses me, Ash, is this mistletoe bothering you?" Luc asks politely.

If he wasn't stuck, Ash would probably tackle Luc in gratefulness. He smiles sheepishly. "Yeah. Though I'm probably the one in its way, not watching where I was walking and all," he attempts to joke.

Luc chuckles. "You should know not to mess with mistletoe this close to Saturnalia. Plant thinks it owns this month."

And Luc will lean in for a nice, thorough....rescue, if there are no objections.
