Caverns and catacombs have always been a part of the Nexus, an entire underlayer, dark and dangerous.  Some of you have always been aware of them, some haven't.  The caves that lead to them are anywhere it's convenient to have one.

Today, they're alive with newcomers.  Scores, maybe hundreds of them, watching from the shadows; tall, lanky people

Isaac has been wandering - somehow avoiding the worst of the changes in the process, but he may have stumbled into something worse.

To the eyes and ears he's human, though not so much to the nose and tongue.

Then they simply watch him from the shadows, and say nothing. Keen senses know.

And there are a few things watching the newcomers right back. Some look nearly human, although shadow-coloured and mostly with a couple of extras; some are just little balls of darkness scuttling through the crowds.
As far as they're concerned, these dark-folk are interesting.

Peter takes a sniff at the tunnels. One would doubt that the Grue woul find his dead meat all that edible, but hey... they could share recipés.
