Enzan is in the Nexus, for once, finally. He's got a large cup of coffee in one hand and is messing around with a holographic screen in from of him. From the look of concentration on his face, he's probably doing early homework or programming or...

Well, actually, he's playing Tetris. (Clarification: He's losing at Tetris.) What would future ( Read more... )

"Why do you suck so bad at Tetris?"

"Because it's an old person's game." Damn, there went another layer. "Where's your sack of bees?"

"Ha ha, couldn't find a sack of bees, could you? That means I win."

A tired, happy, sneaky grin.

"Say I had a brilliant idea, what medium should I put it in? I'm thinkin' poetry 'cause I got another poem due in creative writin' in a couple weeks, but it'd be a cool short story an' I'd have fun paintin' it, too..."

Enzan smiled brightly at Victor. "Why not try all three? You could mix the stages up, or put it together like a book with pictures."

A beaming grin. "That'd be awesome!"

"If you made it, it would. How are you doing lately, Victor?"

Enzan isn't the only person drinking coffee in the Nexus today, as Mia happens to be walking by with a cup in her hand as well. She is inclined to stop and look at the boy curiously, upon hearing his question.

"...Well, what kind of questions are you hoping to hear? And for what reason? I imagine that you've already been asked something related to your coffee or whatever game you're playing there. It would be rather silly of me to inquire about those topics anyways."

Enzan paused the game again, and shrugged. "I don't need any advice, so I really can't ask a meaningless question. But if anyone else needs advice, and they don't want to ask everyone..."

He stopped and made a face. "That sounds a little stupid now that I think about it."

"I don't think it sounds stupid at all. It's just not common for someone to come in the Nexus and ask people to tell them questions. Then again, I find it interesting."

She nods, before taking a seat across from him. "So then, I'm curious to ask: have you gotten any good questions yet? And please, forgive me for asking such basic things. I'd just like to have a small conversation, if you don't mind."

He took a sip of his coffee. "That's what the Nexus is for! And not really. Mostly it's been about the coffee or the game. Got a better one for me?"

"If you could cause one thing- any one thing- to happen in the future, what would that one thing be? Doesn't have to be selfish or selfless, it just has to be something which could happen in the future."

"That's a hard one. How about the Nexus decides not to be shitty to everyone for at least a few months?"

"I thought that you were one of the good guys." He grins.

"Ha, that depends on who you ask." He was seriously tempted to just tell Dick the truth. It was Dick, after all.

"Future technology is worth nothing without Tetris." Sagenod. "Although I admittedly haven't played holographic Tetris as of yet. I keep going through it."

"It's hard if you're not used to it." Enzan nodded. "It took me a few weeks at least to stop trying to press so hard."

"Closest I've gotten was a touch screen, which at least helped. Call me old fashioned, but I like my buttons."

"I like the hologram, it makes it far more easy to carry around.
