A Few Dear Gnomes

Dear RPers:

I have problems with the Theramore scenario, but they stem from personal reasons, not because the storyline sucks, or because I think Blizzard's going the wrong way with how they're working their game. (Except that Jaina's reaction in Tides of War was far more realistic than her reaction in the Alliance version. But that's another rant ( Read more... )

ngl, I have become extremely selective in which quests I've done H-side since Cata came out. And I haven't felt comfortable RPing my peace-and-love-hippie tauren at all; she's been deleted and restarted about nine times and thrived none of those times.

That said, I had an idea that I'd play her kind of the way Baine has been acting throughout these shenanigans: quietly disapproving, not outright threatening treason like Vol'jin, but still sitting there going

Just ignore that blood knight over there in the corner, taking notes and consulting his http://www.wowhead.com/item=28288 to calculate bounties.
He's not planing to turn you in once hte reward gets high enough AT ALL.

P.S. Light be praised, i love playing my blood knight.

I am so torn on blood knights! On the one hand, what a fun concept. On the other hand, most of the people I've seen RPing them give me a migraine. ._.

Most "blood knights" want to be someone super important, rather than a very small cog in a very large oppressive state machine

Sometime in the past couple of weeks, I got it into my head to maybe race-change my orc shaman main into a panda, more or less in strict conjunction with the consideration of going elemental instead of enhancement.

Since then, the details of Garrosh's stupid? Yeah, not only can I totally see her telling Garrosh to fuck off, she's not fighting his war so he can prove his dick is bigger than his daddy's, I'm actually working on writing out an epilogue for her. After seeing the end of Deathwing, as one of a long string of serious existential threats, the idea of pursuing a war of aggression because he's gotten it into his head that REAL ORCS KILL PUNY HUMANS RAARGH is beyond the pale. Fuck him, she's just going to pack off to Nagrand and build a home on one of those floating islands, spend her days communing with the elements, fishing, and tinkering with her flying machine.

Sounds good lass! Ah hope ye dona mind the occasional drunken dwarf dropping by with a cask, eh?

Cause as intox as i play him, every time Thudur pokes through nagrand looking for adamantium I end up crashing into islands big time.

She has mixed feelings about dwarves. On the one hand, she's a Frostwolf, and the Stormpike's campaign against her clan in Alterac was very long, hard-fought, and costly to her, personally. On the other hand, she's met many dwarves who were perfectly stand-up people -- she got along famously with Mylra and the other dwarves of the Earthen Ring, the conflict between the Dragonmaw and the Wildhammer notwithstanding. (Not that she was terribly sympathetic to the Dragonmaw. Killing Mor'ghor good; getting into fights with dwarves when there's Twilight Hammer cultists right the fuck over there not so good. (Not that the Wildhammer are blameless, but still.)

As long as he doesn't have an issue with Frostwolves defending their home against imperialistic archaeologists, then she'd be perfectly happy to knock back a few. Dwarves make some good brew. (In many important ways, in her view, dwarves are very much like short, pink orcs.)

ahh sounds good
.Thudur's Bio begins: When a wildhammer dwarf loves a beer keg, Its nay suprising. When a wildhammer loves another dwarf's keg however, it's probably a good time ta see the world.
To further quote him yammering at one of my toons who hates ye old frostwolves
"Why ye go n do that for lass? All this time ye ben tellin meh bout glory n honor n killin, n not one mention of drink. Nay even ONE. ye expect me to gie evn a small rats tonker over a fight where none o the participants are even an itty bit drunk? "

Basic Campfire for Warchief.

I have a hard time justifying the crap that happens sometimes, and the way some characters are so schizophrenic. Though I cheered as Garrosh threw the general off the cliff in Stonetalon cause that whole area left a bad taste in my mouth. And for all intents and purposes I hate Garrosh more than I ever hated Staghelm.

This is the one thing that SW:TOR does better. You can choose to be an ahole or you can be nice to people. Too bad other things in that game aren't nearly on the same level.

Something I haven't seen mentioned - and I hope a lot of the previous commenters come down here and see this - in the book, when Garrosh remarks to the leader of the blood elves (sorry, I'm an Ally player, I don't know his name!) that he was the only one that didn't speak out against the invasion of Theramore, the Blood Elf replies "I remember what the Horde did for us. My loyalty is to the Horde, now and always."

.....to the Horde. Not Garrosh. I wouldn't see a problem with Blood Elves only paying lip service to Garrosh, and not wanting to foster rebellion in the Horde, but still hating what he's doing.

Lor'themar Theron.

Don't worry, it's a running joke among Hordies to go "Who?!" when someone says his name.

It totally unsettled Garrosh and I was like FUCK YES GO THERON!!! when he did it. xD

Deathy's going to second what everyone's said already, and add that his rather cruel, bloodthirsty, and generally sociopathic DK is appalled, and wants Garrosh's head.

And possibly other bits.
