Depressed

Hey all.

Yesterday was probably one of the worst days of my life. My cat died yesterday. It was really horrible. I think she ate a poisoned rat. That's what the vet said anyways. I don't think I'll ever forget how she looked. The poor thing threw up a couple of times, but we thought she had just eaten too much or something. Then later on, I saw her ( Read more... )

Oh honey :( I'm so sorry.

There's nothing wrong with caring about your cat, or any other pets. In many ways they can be closer to us than most people, and it's very easy to form a bond with pets. I'd think it selfish to think only humans are worthy enough to cry over. Besides, it's good to distance yourself from the horrible things that happen around the world, otherwise we'd all be emotional wrecks.

Thanks love.

Yeah, I agree with you. But yesterday, I was just too emotional. I guesss when you see anybody die, it just hits you how precious life is and you feel more for those who've lost theirs.

Oh God, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.

And crying for her but not for those people having died in Mumbay or for all those suffering from war or hunger over the world - it's not selfish, it's human. It's self protection to filter like that, it allows us to function.

*huggles*

Yeah, I agree with you. It would be pretty hard if we got emotional over every tragedy. It's harsh, but that's life. I guess when you see someone die, it just makes you all that more vulnerable to other people's losses.

Absolutely. And all the more angry at the pointlessness of people being killed in wars.
