Let me welcome you to the 2009 deancas_xmas Gift Exchange, where Dean/Castiel fans unite to spread Christmas spirit, goodwill, and lots, and lots of pixie dust!
Why should you join? Simple! What better way to ring in the holiday season than with the gift of love, specifically Dean/Castiel love? We're just here to offer you the chance to make another fan's day a little brighter by sharing your talent. The added bonus is you receive your very own present in return. Sound awesome? You betcha!
So, my fellow fans, are you already interested? Then, please, read on to learn about the procedures to participate in our Gift Exchange event!
A little info
Sign-ups will be accepted between October 25th, 2009 and November 5th, 2009. After that date, the community will be closed to sign-ups. The gift assignments will then be sent out between November 5th and November 10th.
You will have a month (until December 10th, 2009) to complete your assignment and send it to the mods at deancas.xmasmod @ gmail.com. Please, refer to the Submission Guidelines and Templates post to learn how to get your freshly made gift to the mods.
Once the mods recieve all participant gift submissions, posting begins. Each work will be posted anonymously by the mods between December 13th to December 24th and once we're all recovering from our New Year's hangovers, our generous Santas will be unmasked!
If you have questions about other aspects of the exchange, please, visit the F.A.Q. Thorough though we may be, no one is perfect. Your question may not be answered in any of the admin posts. Please comment on the F.A.Q. post with any additional inquiries.

So, you want to participate in the yuletide Dean/Castiel extravaganza? Fantastic! Please, take a minute to read the Dean/Castiel Xmas Gift Exchange Rules and then sign-up in this post's comments using the following template:

Be especially careful specifying your likes/dislikes because in addition to serving as the guidelines for your Secret Santa, the mods will be using the specs to appropriately match you. We want this to be an enjoyable for everyone and will do our best to make certain everyone receives a prompt they can at least wrap their head around. Please keep in mind, though, that the prompts are optional both for you and your Secret Santa. However, by providing them you can also give your Santa a general sense of what your tastes are if they aren't able to work with the provided prompt.

Pinch Hitters are those wonderful people that act as substitutes and take charge of that Santa's assignment, if someone is unable to complete a request. We want every gifter to receive a gift in return! If you think you could handle it, please, say so in your Sign Up and receive boundless love and appreciation sprinkled with Castiel-feathers from the mods! Anyway, if the issue of needing pinch-hitters arises, the mods will post an entry requesting assistance.
