It occurs belatedly that perhaps I should have gone through and double-checked that I actually have a copy of all my old fic before they took the JC boards down for the move. Whoops.
Also my style was broken, so now I'm back to default styles because, um, I'm lazy. I'll probably track down something more appealing eventually. Also my default userpic

I hope vaguely that I had the right e-mail address registered at the JC. :P I actually did go over there and try to check before the move, but it had been so long since I had been there that I seriously couldn't figure out how to check. :P Pretty sure the e-mail was right, though, and that I remember the password. Mostly.
A friend suggested we go to see The Hunger Games the week after it came out. I agreed, and since there were several days before our planned outing and I had the first book anyway, I figured I might as well read it. The movie is an awesome adaptation. Really fantastic. After the movie I read Catching Fire and Mockingjay and they are very awesome and yet Mockingjay pretty well flattened me. I didn't expect a neat and tidy ending, but some of the character losses really broke my heart. Great books, though, and great movie.

I keep hearing really good things about the movie. I'm hoping I'll get time to see it in the next couple of weeks. (Fingers crossed for a long screening run...) And I've just finished Mockingjay - ouch for ALL the characters. Well, okay, maybe just the majority. :p

I loved the movie - the books are waiting to be read but I am preparing myself for some heartbreak!

Basically, I agree with all the movie love, and I think it was one of the best adaptations I've ever come across. I enjoyed all the books, but if they do as good a job on the rest of the movies as they did with the first, I think I might end up liking the movies better than the books. Hope you enjoy the movie when you do see it!
Also, a re-read of the Thrawn books is always a good idea. ;)
