I just realised when my mental image of Thrawn is essentially Paget!Holmes with red eyes and blue skin. What.

But Thrawn and Pellaeon are basically Holmes and Watson in space, right? Right?This absolutely calls for an AU where Thrawn survives and he and Pellaeon travel the galaxy solving crimes together

Thrawn would be all "Ha, REASONED ANALYSIS!", Pellaeon would be amazed, and everyone else would be all, "Bwuh?", because this is the GFFA and logic is a foreign concept. And then Thrawn retires and keeps alien bees. *g*
