"It's a study in procrastination!"*

Thanks for the messages of condolence and support for Jess -- all were very much appreciated. I haven't been online as much as usual lately, between assessments for uni and trying to deal with various things, but with my final exam on Monday (and I should really do something about study for that, I guess) I'm hoping to get things straightened out ( Read more... )

I'm prepping to dive in to WoT. :D My husband's read it and is very positive about it, which is exciting because we were both sort of "meh" with the last two... and then Jordan died. I'm actually looking forward to reading this one, though, which makes me happy. :)

Ooh, exciting! You'll have to let me know you think. I just finished yesterday and loved it. There was a bit of whiplash due to the picking up of the pace on some of the plot and characterisation after the last few books, but in a good sense. :p

Whiplash is good! :D I'm picking it up tomorrow!! *is excited* We had a bunch of out of town stuff to do, but now we're settled for the immediate future and I can dive in. As a good omen, I saw a woman in the park reading what looked like the very first Jordan book. Let the saturation begin!

New Zealand? :O I definitely want pictures. (Of course, I want pictures of Queensland too, whenever you feel like taking/uploading any. It's all other-side-of-the-world for me, so it's all exciting. :P )

I will read the recap/guide. I vaguely remember this airing here, but I didn't catch it. Maybe I can find it on hulu or something one of these days.

Hey, I read Brandon Sanderson's Elantris! Ultimately, it was very disappointing, but not because it was bad. It was disappointing because it had SO MUCH potential, and he wound up taking the easy way out in several areas and it felt like such a cheat. Not to mention the heroine (the one and only truly important female character, sigh) was such a Mary Sue. But like I said, I thought it had a lot of potential, and I think it was his first book. I'd be pretty happy to know that he matured as an author.

Much sympathy for the sleep deprivation. I feel your pain.

And wow, do I owe you a PM. I'll see if I can't take care of that tomorrow. *facepalm*

If I can get the camera to work, I will share pictures. :p

I found the guide pretty amusing, and it works as an summation of what the show's about. Historical funtimes and all the good stuff.

That's interesting, because it's hard to judge Sanderson's writing from the WoT book -- I think that he's made something of an effort to keep it fairly invisible. That he more or less succeeds is a point in his favour, though.

*hugs* :p
