"Oh you volunteered for McCain in the 2008 campaign? ... I sure wouldn't vote for him, what attracted you to do that? . . . You know I had to run for county attorney and I was attacked by negative ads . . . I hate elections I really can't stand them."

Maybe, maybe not.

When you've been doing in the "biz" for a long time and you have to sit through countless interviews, after a while, you get tired of asking the same questions and getting the same responses. What you really are looking for are excuses either to: a) not hire this candidate or b) hire the candidate.

Were the interviewer pro-McCain, I have no doubt you would would have sealed the deal right then and there.

I doubt that. Maybe biased in my favor, but the conservative interviewers never talk about it.
