ok, some assessment has been made of losses...a good bit of the master tapes from records past have remained intact, although some have been water damaged. it seems what epuipment that wasnt burned has sufficient water damage as well....this is just one of those things that's going to take a while to sort out. a good bit of the equipment is/was one ( Read more... )

I just received news that the historic Easley McCain Recording Studio here in Memphis burned down around 2pm today. Easley McCain recorded many many Memphis and National Artists alike- everyone from Big Star to Modest Mouse to Cat Power to Sonic Youth, all of the current Makeshift Artists, and so many more.
