Hello new friendses

Greetings, new friends from the sherlockbbc friending meme. My name is Christine, and welcome to my haven of slash, fangirl-y goodness and the absolute inanity over SHERLOCK/JOHN.

I'm probably the biggest Sherlock/John (or John/Sherlock, I have no preference, love both) slash fan you'll ever meet, I sure hope not though ;)

A little more about myself: I'm ( Read more... )

new friends~, sheer stupidity and chaotic happiness, sherlock, sherlock/john

*bookmarks twirling!fic* Epic and hilarious scene. As for friendship shipping, I would take that to mean gen fic centered around their friendship. Am I wrong about that? I honestly haven't seen that term being used around.

Well in all honesty, for gen fic, the author is literally writing as though they were creating an episode themselves, so no shipping would be involved. It wouldn't be out of place at all if Godtiss/Moff decided to make an episode that centered around Sherlock/John's friendship (since that is what the canon books are about).
I suppose Sherlock wouldn't be the best example in explaining exactly what I mean by the whole "friendship shipping" thing. I find the prime example of this absolute blasphemy to be the House/Wilson ship.
Anyway, think of it more like a Sherlock/Lestrade shipper saying "oh I ship both Sherlock/Lestrade and Sherlock/John, but I only like Sherlock/John as friends." See that statement makes no sense at all. Either you ship Sherlock/John, or you don't. Do you see what I mean?

LOL I totally think too much.

Haha, I see what you mean! It's mostly people using very very loose definitions of the word "ship" I suppose. I'm always in favour of less ambiguous and potentially confusing wordings in fandom.

ahahaha I like your opinions so far. more of that.

also, I went to film school for two years, and it was probably the most fun I've ever had (before I figured out I wanted to do something else with my life. but my initial opinion still stands). so I enthusiastically support your post-grad plans! if you end up in tv, pleasepleasepleeeeease make more US shows like Sherlock. god knows we could use it.

I did not know pluperfect is indeed a word. I have already learned something!

But I think that makes sense! I never really thought about the word but I think you laid it out pretty clearly.

And ahhhh tell me about it with the visual looks. Sherlock is just gorgeous. Also the lighting in The Great Game makes me so happy. Especially so.

I'm still not sure if pluperfect IS a word lol. I just felt like using it.

Yeah? It does make sense to you? Good. I thought I was acting a little crazy there!

I KNOW RIGHT. What really drew me to Sherlock was how beautifully it was filmed. I mean London is already a beautiful city as it is, add the amazing cinematography? DARN IT NOW I WANNA GO THERE. And they captured amazing angles for Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as well.

Haaai, new friend! Hello there! *waves*

but also for the cinematography (I had visual orgasms when I watched the first episode, not even kidding) and the brilliant writing (and the acting, obviously, but I think I don't need to point that out ;D).

I agree like whoa, slash or not the series are good and enjoyable in so many levels!

I do not believe in such a thing as "friendship shipping" when it comes to two characters who are already canonically stated as friends.

Pfft! It seems kinda redundant, truth to be told.

I now leave you with the gayest twirling scene of the decade.

I lol'd! :D
