Bill and Leonard arrived at Sickbay at a very literal run, slowing to something closer to an agitated walk as they neared the door. McCoy, it seemed, had beaten them to it, and was now sitting by De's bed, hand on De's in a gesture that made Bill's chest clench a little. De had been so adamant that he wanted to be left alone, but then - he had been asking for them...

"What's happened? Is he awake?" Bill asked, hesitating just inside the room.

"Not yet, but almost," Bones told him, glad that they were here.

He stood, giving up the chair to one of them as he walked to the doorway. "The notes on his chart say he began moving a few minutes ago, and that he was calling out for you two, and Carolyn," he frowned.

De twisted again, brow furrowed, still muttering, when he suddenly jolted upright, eyes wide, forehead beaded with sweat. "No!" he shouted, before breathing in with jumpy breaths, panicked.
